AV, the fiction (layers of speculation and assumption on top of each other) is not being squelched in this forum, and it's a myth to suggest that it isn't a very real and ongoing part of the discussion here. Regularly, repeatedly. Often.
In that context, there should be nothing wrong with offering "the rest of the story" - the factual part, actually - that reminds of what we know in this case and what THAT is showing us. So I disagree with your objection to those who choose to opine in that fashion. (And truth be told, sticking with the facts, and seeing what FACTS might tell us, is actually the closest adherence to TOS, so there's that.)
I would also suggest that if such fiction could take us anywhere, it should have done so long ago, at one of the first 50 times the same speculation was sliming the same person with no one (then, or now) having any facts that put him at the crime or prove his involvement with EA. But maybe that's just me.~shrug~
