The location (found remains) is also approximately 5½ miles from Watters Creek. That is where 10-15 detectives converged one weekend to search. I know I keep bringing that up, but have always wondered if something was found there, or if he was seen in that location...
zippixx, Watters Creek has stuck in my mind from early on, but my thought was more north, closer to Sam Rayburn, so I'm glad you mention this again.
I'm not from the area, so not at all sure this scenario could work, as I don't know if the exits, entry to property, etc., are possible. I also don't know what the traffic is like at that hour of the day, so maybe it couldn't work from that standpoint.
But EA got lucky somehow and somewhere, so maybe . . .
I guess, too, that this scenario works best if Christina is already injured or dead in EA's trunk (and three minutes in the garage is more than enough time, imo, for something to go sideways--she rebuffs his attempt to get intimate, etc.), but could still work if Christina is in front passenger seat of his car and EA is just trying to find somewhere to take her to have privacy with her.
I'm imagining he's driving along Sam Rayburn, with Christina in his trunk, and desperate to find a place to get her out asap and certainly before dawn.
EA exits Sam Rayburn right after passing over Custer Road, gets on service road. If he can exit there, then both the Rowlett Creek and Watters Creek wooded areas south of the service road are possibilities. It appears from the Google map that there are at least two-track roads into each area from the service road, but I'm assuming these areas are fenced with limited access through unlocked gates since the wooded areas appear to be next to hay fields and\or pasture land. Service roads are normally fenced off from adjacent land.
Once off the service road and into the wooded area, would he have had enough privacy? It is hard to tell from the maps if the woods are dense enough. But given the fact of Tennyson just being found in an area he was known to be in, and an area supposedly previously searched, maybe a body can be hidden far easier than I imagine.
Going into this area without headlights on could certainly account for the damage to his car.
Then EA heads back to Shops area to get rid of Christina's purse and phone in the vicinity of her car, and then goes home to clean his car and get himself put together.
The delay in reporting Christina missing meant her purse and phone were long gone by the time anyone would have been looking for them--either picked up by someone who found them, or they went in a dumpster and in the landfill.
I just think EA would have been frantic to get Christina out of his trunk as quickly as he could, and certainly before dawn.
As always, imo.
