Foul play’ not suspected in case of Frisco mom found dead in SUV with 3 kids

Few details have been released in the case of a Frisco woman found in a Target parking lot last week, dead in her SUV with her three children alive at her side.

Frisco police said this week that they had no updates but did not suspect “foul play.”

The Collin County Medical Examiner’s office on Tuesday said it was waiting on toxicology results to determine a cause of death.

Might have been accidental death due to toxic combination of drugs.

No foul play doesn't really tell us much. Suicide wouldn't be considered foul play. Here is a case of known suicide and authorities claim there is no foul play (meaning nobody else did anything). I don't think anybody is arguing somebody did something to Christine.

"Authorities say there was no foul play. They assert that Bland hanged herself with a trash bag from a metal barrier that separated the bathroom from the rest of her cell. She was found "in her cell not breathing from what appears to be self-inflicted asphyxiation," according to the Waller County Sheriff's Office."

Thanks for the link. I have been following along on this thread since last week and just as puzzled as the rest of you.

One thing I wonder from what the ME's office released today is that if they are waiting on tox reports does that mean there is no other physical damage found like from a heart attack or an aneurism?

I was wondering the same.

Ms. Bland's story is a tragedy. I feel so sad for her and her family. I think the cop was totally wrong in that case, JMO! Thank you for the link, and someone's equally tragic story to compare as to what the media is saying.

Personally, that is how I read it. The autopsy should have uncovered any physical findings of death, as you listed, heart attack, clot/aneurysm, choking, etc. They should even have the stomach contents, but I'm assuming they may have tested her hair, tissue and stomach contents for the toxicology results. I'm just so puzzled. Again, this post was just my opinion of what the ME's report means, not by any means a medical expert.

Fox screen takes a long time... Relatively speaking. So, I guess I'll go away.

Perhaps even if they did find something medical/physical, they want the tox report to confirm/deny if any substance caused the medical problem?? And, perhaps they are also waiting for the tox reports before releasing info to let the story fade into the background so the family has a some respite from the attention?

I don't know, just speculating. JMO.

Yeah I'm in a Walgreen's pharmacy drive up line right now and wishing I wasn't. So I take back anything I thought the other day about it being faster. I could have had an entire preschool class with me and have been in and out by now. Yikes.

Also very interested in the tox screen results. So sad all of it.

Yeah, I agree with waiting for the tox report and substance. The family does deserve a respite. I can only imagine how Mr. Woo is coping or not coping. I hope he is getting the help he needs mentally. Prayers for the Woo family.

It isn't uncommon for many substances taken in large quantity to stop your heart and essentially cause a heart attack. The ME could have found a cause of death but given the situation they could be withholding it to see if it was or was not substance caused. Tox screens usually average 6-8 weeks I believe.

I guess my opinion that she choked was wrong.

Autopsy doesn't always uncover all natural causes. My old school friend was found on her sofa, dead. Nothing immediately showed such as heart attack/Stroke etc but they had to wait a long time for the tox screen to rule out before they decided it was Sudden Adult death Syndrome.

ETA - my friend was 38 and otherwise healthy.

Is Sudden Adult Death Syndrome the same as cardiac arrest or respiratory arrest?

I had to google this one...been an RN for 10 years and never heard of it before! It seems to involve an abnormal heart rhythm that ends in cardiac arrest, but it's basically a "best guess" when all other causes have been ruled out. Very rare!

Re: going in a drug store vs the drive thru. I'm 5'3" and drive thrus, particularly the ones at drug stores, aren't all short-person or SUV friendly. The ones I've been to have added concrete posts that make it difficult to maneuver close enough to reach the button that opens the drawer or tube container. Questions for the pharmacist are also better handled at the counter vs relayed through the person at the window.

I'm 5'1" and do use window at banks, but I have to undo my seat belt to be able to reach the drawer to put in or take out. I've never used a drug store window -- prolly never will.

Do you find yourself making a little area for your toes in the bottom shelf of the grocery store shelves to step upwards to get to an item you must have that is on the top shelf? And getting a carton of milk (where there are no bottom shelves to stand on) from the top shelf? Grrrrrr.
