Hi SadieMae-the job interview went well, I will start tomorrow! I still plan on going to Texas, just not sure when now but definitely sometime this fall.

Congrats on the new job! You will probably be happy that you did take on something to keep you busy, earn a little extra, and get you out of the house and away from the computer, at least a few hours a week!

My thoughts are with you and Deanna,

Congratulations Missie! I hope its something you enjoy!

Thanks everyone. I'm just working at wal-mart. Nothing too serious, but enough to provide adult conversation, sadly, that's VERY exciting to me,lol! It's gonna take me a bit to get used to work late (10 or 11p.m.), I'm kind of an "early to bed, early to rise" type of person.

  • #505
Congrats on the job! You will get used to the hours soon enough. You may even turn into a night owl like me! LOL Uhm..do you get a discount?!

  • #506
Oh I don't think I'll turn into a night owl even though I would REALLY like too (my husband is a night owl). We do get a 10% discount on general merchandise, but as far as the grocery side it is only fruits and veggies that are discounted :( . We also get paid another dollar per hour we work on sundays, which I think is a really neat idea. I did the math the other day and we spend at least $120 a month on milk!! And there's only 4 of us, I can't imagine how larger households do it. My parents used to make us drink powdered milk, it was so gross I can't do that to my kids.

  • #507
Ack! Powdered milk! Money spent on real milk is worth it! At least, you get some discount on things that are good for you tho. (I would prefer it to be on clothes myself!)

An extra buck an hour on Sunday sounds like a good incentive, but is that with already having worked 40 hours? Seems like a good way for them to get out of paying real overtime. Hmmmm...

  • #508
Oh no-the extra buck is for everyone. We were told that they don't "do" overtime. In other words if you're at 40 hours your done, and you go home no matter what. I would imagine that depends on which store your at though.
The 10% is for general merchandise (anything that isn't food) and for veggies and fruits, so clothes and all that get the discount.

  • #509
Oh, sorry I misread it!

Well...I would work only on Sundays. LOL

That's okay SS!

Things have been quiet as far as Deanna's case, but my sister did email Sgt.Davis about Jason Massey with links to the info on him-so I guess we'll wait to see what he says.

  • #511
I hope you hear back something soon from Davis and that he actually takes it into consideration to check into. However, I don't see how he couldn't or even hasn't up until now. He is surely aware of him.

  • #512
yeah-he probably is aware of him, but we didn't want to risk him slipping through the cracks of this investigation-just in case.

Bekki submitted DNA today!!! She also got the pleasure of meeting the District Attorney. Sgt. Davis was there and the D.A. made the mistake of asking her if we had been able to give any information and what had been done. Well, apparently Bekki being the fiery woman she is went off!! She told the DA about everything and told him how upset she was about what hasn't been done. I have a feeling that our Sgt. Davis has a new source of motivation now!! We have dug up so much information for him, and spoon fed him possible leads, maybe now he can act on them.
Also, Bekki was in another small town between Austin and Killeen the other day and saw a wanted poster for Skipper White!! She managed to get a copy of it and is going to call and see if they have found him, and try to find out what he is wanted for.

  • #514
That is great!!! New motivation is right! I hope this does light a fire under his uhm er...lower posterior...and get them moving in the right direction. You deserve answers.

I guess I missed it...who is Skipper White?

  • #515
Skipper White was a very very good friend of Deanna's. I attempted to contact him quite a few times to no avail, just to try to find out how Deanna was thinking around the time of her disappearance.

  • #516
Ah, OK. Is there a possibility he was involved?

  • #517
Woo!! That is so very exciting, you're making progress, albeit teeny tiny baby steps at times. This seems like a big giant step though, congrats!!

Thank You aj1020. I'm not sure in what town she saw the poster, or where exactly he is wanted. I think she's going to try calling to find something out, but I don't know when/if she will.
SS-I personally don't think Skipper was involved, but when I told Sgt. Davis that in past conversations his exact words were "Ha, I'm not ruling anyone out on this one", SOOOO, who knows?

Hi Missie:blowkiss:. I hope you are enjoying your job and that you and your family are well.

Is there any news? Do you know the status of the DNA testing? Any work on the possibility, however remote, that Skipper may know something? Have you heard from Detective Davis?

I am still working waaaay too many hours, but I read every day, and I am here for you if there is anything at all I can do.
