TX TX - Deanna Merryfield, 13, Killeen, 22 July 1990 - #1

Good day all, I have been busy with church, teaching Sun school etc. so I am just getting here for the day!

Missie- Did Deanna and her twin hang out with the same circle of friends? After Deanna disappeared, did her twin ever associate with Deanna's friends (Skip, Kenny, Co-co, etc) Did Deanna's twin graduate with any of them?

The Lord is working in mysterious ways. Today my husband and I decided to take a break from all of this and clean out our garage to take my mind off of it. I was going through a box that had tons of old pictures, and wouldn't you know it-I found this!:
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s65/missiemt/deannaalone.jpg

I'm going to try to work on resizing it without pixelating it too much. I have no idea where I got this picture but it is dated May 1990

I'll have to ask her twin if she is okay with me posting a picture of her for age progression.

Deanna looks alot like Ashlee Simpson. Maybe you are related, she is from TX too!! :waitasec:

I got a reply back from CoCo30 on MySpace; unfortunately it's not the reply that I wanted. Here is what she wrote:

I am sorry she is missing but i did not know her.Yes, she would be about my age because i started my freshman year at Ellison about the same time but i do not remember her.

I sent her a follow up message that said:

CoCo30, thank you so much for responding; anything helps and you just never know. I have two more questions for you if you don't mind, do you know of any other CoCo's in the Killeen area or any that may have lived in the Killeen at one time? Also, is CoCo short for for any other names? I'm not sure if CoCo was this girls nickname or her real name. The CoCo we are looking for would be around your age, yet she could be a few years older or maybe one year younger.

Thanks again,
Karen

We'll see what happens.

A little bit of new info: When she was last seen by her twin, it was on Dimple St. in Killeen, Texas.
Deanna and her twin sister did hang out with the same people UNTIL Deanna went to live with our Grandma, the her twin didn't talk to the same people as Deanna. Keep in mind, they were 13 and lived approximately 2.5 miles apart. If they wanted to see each other a lot of the time they had to walk, or arrange for transportation from who ever was willing to give them a ride. I decided to get a google map of directions from Dimple St. where Deanna's twin was living, to Alamo St. where Deanna lived:
http://maps.google.com/maps?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GFRC_enUS218US218

I asked Deanna's twin to give our Uncle Jimmy my phone number and I should hear from him soon.

Missie- Do you or your sisters know if CoCo is the way DeAnna's friend spelled her name? Is it possible it was spelled KoKo? I went ahead and searched for a KoKo on MySpace, and the closest I came (by searching the name KoKo and filtering to 100mi radius of 76543) was this one:
http://www.myspace.com/91599606
Age is listed as 29, but in the About Me section she says she's originally from California.

Also, does DeAnna have any medical conditions that she might get a prescription for? Or any family history of one?

And everyone: Please be careful when entering anybody's SSN anywhere, especially on the internet. Phishers/Scammers are everywhere, and there's a chance that information such as a SSN could fall into the hands of potential indentity theives. I could be wrong, but I think the safest way to search someone's SSN on your own, is to get a free credit report directly from one of the three major credit reporting agencies, or freecreditreport.com (However there might be some problems with obtaining a report from that website, because you have to enter an address). IMO, checking the activity on a SSN is best left to LE to do.

"On July 22nd 1990 Deanna visited her twin at about 1 a.m at our uncle's home ( where her twin was living). As far as I know, there wasn't an arguement and I don't see what they could have argued about. Her twin said "she left with some boys"Later that day our Grandma called my Mom at our house and said Deanna was missing. She came over and got a picture of Deanna to file a missing persons report."

Missie, I think that the first thing that you should do is contact the police department and see if the report mentioned above was filed. If so get a copy of the orginal report and all supplement reports. Be sure that you get supplement reports too.
You mentioned that Deanna was removed from the missing list because she turned 18. That could be that police departments policy but it is not the norm. I can speak for more than one department in saying that in order to remove someone they have to be recovered. That means a police officer has to actually see the missing person and document it before the person is removed from NCIC(National Crime Information Center).

Missy or Amy,

I was just wondering what you found out about getting a copies of the reports.

Hi Shadow, thank you for your question. I called again yesterday and finally got a hold of someone in Sgt. Davis office. I'm expecting a call back sometime this afternoon because they wanted to look up the reports, etc.

Sounds great, be sure and get the report(s) number so we can start getting Deanna posted on the websites for the missing.

Missie, do you know the exact date of this, sorry if you have posted it.

She and Grandma stayed up late watching movies, went to bed @ 1:30AM, let her sleep in until 11AM, went in & she wasn’t there. G called Jimmy & he said that Deanna was there (to talk to Becky I think) around 3:30 AM in a brown car, w 2 guys that she said were my friends.

No problem Christine, this question hasn't been asked yet, and it is a very good one.
She and Grandma stayed up late watching movies on the night of 7-21-90. Grandma was going to let her sleep in until 11AM on 7-22-90 and when she went to wake her, she wasn't there.

I started all of this because I want her in the missing person databases so that people like us here on Websleuths can consider her too when looking at UID's.

I have been working on this angle and didn't not want to bring it up, didn't want to make you feel uncomfy. I am glad you mentioned it and it is a realization for you that we may not find her alive...now I will feel more comfy discussing that part of the research, as I am sure others will. We have some incredible searchers on this forum....if she is out there, listed somewhere as UID, God forbid, someone here will find her.

Thank you for your honesty Christine. I want everyone to know that I am not only looking into finding her alive. She is my sister, and I love her, but I also know the odds are against us. I am grateful for everyone's help. I'm still trying to get a hold of the investigater in charge, and I think in light of the past few days events that I may be able to speak to him personally soon. I will post more later. Thank you everyone.

Do ya'll think it would be beneficial for me to follow up with KPD too? Or will too many calls hinder the efforts?

Just wanted to pop in to let you know that I am still working on Deana's case, I've just been super busy at work this week and haven't had time to do much posting here. No results off of MySpace yet, sorry to say. Hopefully things are moving forward with the police reports. Hang in there Missie & Amy, there are people here that I know will truly help you and your sisters.
