Missie, I hope you feel better, and that your car gets fixed up soon!

About the pics...which one(s) do you think would be good to use? I downloaded the profile pic from the MySpace page, which I believe you said was the last picture taken of her. Are there any others from that time frame? Should I use one of the younger pics too? (I saw some on the MySpace page that I can download.) I just want to use ones that people will recognize if they have seen her.

Once Deanna gets listed in the NCMEC, will they do an age progression of her? I can always include that in a later video.

Today makes it 17 years that Deanna has been gone. I promised myself that I would not be sad so I'm just trying to stay occupied. I would really like to make her one of those fancy bulletins for myspace, but I am an absolute html dummy. I hope Sgt.Davis is able to meet with Bekki on Tuesday, and I hope she can gently encourage him to get her in the NCMEC. I don't know what else to do right now. The reporter from Killeen wrote and said they are still interested in her story but "some things are in limbo right now and it may be passed to another reporter". Not sure what that's all about.

Gina-the picture on her profile is the most recent. The other one on the bottom of her poster is the 2nd most recent that I have. I am so thankful that you are doing this!!

Bekki met with Sgt. Davis today. A lot of things were discussed, but he apparently brought the wrong dna kit with him:banghead: so we STILL don't have dna to start working on. Bekki asked him about the NCMEC and he said he thought he had put her on there:eek: . I don't want to say the mean things that are going through my head right now, but I think that him saying that is down right disrespectful. I have emailed him over and over asking him to put her on there!!
I know no one is perfect, including LE so I will pray tonight for God to give Sgt. Davis the guidance he needs in this case, and myself the patience and understanding I need.

You are all in my prayers.

I am a PM away....just wanted to remind.

Missie-
You were in my thoughts many times yest., wondering how the mtg. went w/ Sgt. D and Bekki--now I know. I am so sorry. This must be so frustrating to you to say the least. I'm frustrated for you!! I can never say, "I know how you feel," but I DO understand the frustration of finding something that you think should be so obvious to another person, esp. someone who is in a certain business for a living and thinking, "WHY didn't they think of that? HOW could they have missed that?!" Many times I am having to take a breath and keep my mouth shut over this issue or that. You just would have thought that he would have double-checked his notes before the mtg. and made sure he had what he needed. Did she have to drive a long way?

How is the car situation? I am glad to know that you have a good group of friends around that can assist if you need it. And it sounds like you were helping them out as well by assisting in their moves, when you had just moved in yourself! You are a sweet person, Missie, with strength and resolve beyond your years...

By the way, I LOVE your new quote in your sig. Anyone who has lost someone or suffered true heartache can empathize with that. It made me gasp! It is a good one.

take care,

Hi Sloane:blowkiss: . I was very frustrated to hear he brought the wrong kit. He drove to Bekki this time, about 50 miles away from Killeen. Next time she will drive there, that way we know he will have the kit, lol.

The truck,ummmm-yeah. Lets just say me and the kids have not gone anywhere since saturday.:bang: We ordered the radiator online, and it came in today-but it's the wrong one. We're done trying to be cheap skates now. We're just going to get a new one at full price (arm+leg) tomorrow. Just remember folks-you get what you pay for, lol!

I recieved an email from Sgt. Davis last night. I don't think I'm supposed to talk much about what he said, but he did say that he is in contact with the NCMEC. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to show up online after the missing person has been submitted?
I'm dying to go to Killeen to meet with Sgt.Davis, but right now I can't. It's so frustrating!

Hi Everyone! There are some serious red flags going up at Killeen PD. I can't say what is going on, but I feel like a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 for busting Sgt. Davis' chops. He's working pretty hard on her case this week. I wouldn't say it is going to be solved soon-but things are being done. He couldn't say too much, but this may become a murder case instead of a missing person case. I just hope all who were involved are still alive and can be brought to justice.

Missie, has the detective asked about getting DNA in codis? Sorry if this has been discussed. If she is UID somewhere, then if DNA is in codis it will hit.

Hi Missie...sorry I haven't participated much on this thread, but I have been reading when I can. Two weeks ago there was a double homicide in Killeen that shocked everyone. Two women were killed at the Dollar General off Stan Schleuter before the store opened. Also there were two other homicides last week. I don't know what's going on here! I don't think KPD is equipped to handle this.

yes, I've read about the murders, it really is sad. I saw the bad side of killeen from a very young age. Drugs have always been a big problem there, and my family was definitely a part of that. That is why i was so anxious to leave there once i was old enough to.

Missie,

I have sent you a couple of emails and have not heard back. With my workload, I cannot always come here and read all the threads.

It would appear, based on what you are saying here, that even though Davis was tight-lipped with me, he is taking action. That is wonderful.

Please do respond to my emails as soon as you can.

Thank you.

The DNA info and how-to's have been given to Davis. I am also encouraging Missie to submit her DNA.

Oh Missie - I am so sorry to hear this and I am praying like crazy that there might be a mistake.

Hugs and good wishes to you and your sisters.

Christine, I somehow missed your post earlier, sorry. Bekki will submit at the beginning of August, they will pull the mitochondrial dna from that and put it in codis. I may go at the end of august.
Kelly-I haven't recieved any emails from you! I don't know why, but thats weird!
Salem-thank you for your kind words. I knew getting into this that this may be a possibility, but it doesn't make it any easier. Who knows-maybe things will change.
Honestly guys, I've been a mess all day. I'm hearing things I never thought I would hear, it's not pleasant, but nothing compared to the hell Deanna probably went through-even if she is still alive.

I am so, so sorry. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

Ok...email problem resolved. We'll just do Bekki's DNA as she is a full sister to Deanna.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes! I'm trying to stay positive, I have to. I just hope that eventually we know-no matter how painful it is. She needs a voice.
