I don't think anyone hired her. I think she borrowed her friend's car, drove to the garage and shot KH herself.

Possibly a good aim, but if shooter is a person's face it doesn't seem good aim would be a problem. I guess autopsy will tell distance from which gun was fired.

Very true, but I would think it takes a cold-blooded killer with some experience to kill like that. I don't know anything about Crystal and maybe she is very hardened, but for a young woman to face another woman in the face and pull the trigger and then drive away....yikes, that's tough. And would the person hiring the kill trust a young woman to do it (even if she could do it - would she be trusted to do it?).

The other possibility is that she wasn't hired for the job but killed out of emotional passion and rage. Then I could believe she could pull the trigger in another woman's face. But I don't think that is the case here.

I'm prepared to be wrong, but I think the killer was a male who hid in the car.

JMO.

Men and women will kill a lover/spouse out of general anger or vindictiveness even when their is no child or money issues involved. I cannot think of a single case where a hit man was hired for such a situation. A hired hit virtually always means there is a "business" angle to the killing (i.e. MONEY).

Interesting POV you have there...dental school and business ownership could very easily have her owing money. I wonder if perhaps she borrowed money from someone? Although I never quite understand why people have people killed over monetary debts, not like you would ever get your money back then.

I will say,the gables, while not as upscale as it use to be, is full of what we like to call $30,000 millionaires. That is people who live out of their means, have large credit card debts, lease flashy cars, etc.. NOT saying this was the case here, by all means she seemed very successful. Just saying that to give an idea of what Dallas is like. You have the old money, new money and the fake money.

And not to keep quoting you but, I do remember that lady who was hiring someone to kill her husband and he was an undercover cop. So it does happen. But those seem to be more often from someone who would benefit by either life insurance policies or avoiding a costly or messy divorce.

Who has the money and the motive to hire this hit done? It would be someone who didn't want to pull the trigger himself (or herself) and someone who knew when and where the deed could be accomplished.

I agree. It was probably someone she knew.

It was said the shooter could have possibly exchanged words with Kendra. Maybe he asked if she was KH, to make sure he had the right person?

Yes, the hired assassin most likely called out her name to make sure she was the target. KH probably thought he was a process server, but then he produced a gun, she screamed, and he shot her in the throat - a professional hit man only fires a single shot. CC turned herself in so quickly because she didn't want to be next.

She looks like a punk!

She doesn't have that frenzied, crazy look of someone who killed out of anger, jealousy, or passion. She looks like someone who would take $500 to drive a car in a robbery (I don't think it was a robbery but I can believe she was told it would be a robbery and that was agreeable to her.)

JMO, could be wrong. The truth will come out soon.

According to the arrest warrant - CC admitted to conspiring with an unnamed man for $500, to drive an unknown suspect.

What stands out to me is the use of "unnamed" and "unknown". IMO unnamed could mean he is known but his name not mentioned. This could just be wording though.

I agree. Unnamed means the police know his name but aren't releasing it to the public until he is in custody. The only unknown is the hired killer.

Either Cortez got the $500 up front...which tells me that this is no robbery...because the victim could have been returning from her gym at that time of night and have next to no valuables or cash with her. Who would pay $500 up front not knowing what the return on the robbery would be.

Or Cortez knows very well who hired her and how to contact him because he is her payday.

The only other scenario is that the guy in the car, hired her, did the murder, and paid her right after. Even then, she k owns where she met him, picked him up,dropped him off eye.

I'm curious about the victims relationship to "Ricky" the new boyfriend who has no FB of his own. If she planned to move to SF to be with him, that would mean closing her practice...which could result in some people being out of work.

So

I don't see any new reports stating LE is looking for a second suspect.

NBCnews.com

"Cortez "admitted her involvement in the murder and has given detectives information that other unidentified suspects may have been involved," the statement added."

So it sounds like the unnamed man hired her for $500 to be the driver, and hired the unknown suspect to murder Dr. Hatcher. I wonder how much the killer was paid?

I'm guessing surveillance video doesn't show the gunman exiting the vehicle and killing KH. They only have images of the Jeep entering and leaving the garage.

There is a witness who saw the killer. He's a teenager and his father relayed the info on the news. See post #94.

The witness - a 15 year old boy - said the shooter got in Hatcher's face and they exchanged words before he shot her. The witness said she was targeted.

I have no doubt that she was targeted. But they are saying for a robbery, that is why I am wondering what could she have had that was worth paying someone $500? Something seems a bit off and why didn't LE mention the robbery to begin with?

It sounds like LE knows the identity of the man who paid for the hit on KH. Hopefully he will be in custody (modsnip)

If he was such a professional hit man, why shoot her in a garage where there are so many cameras? Why not follow her out to the street and shoot with no cams around?

Things are moving too fast, can you link the article where it says they exchanged words? Thanks.
