He doesn’t seem to be in a rush to get it…

Having a child as a new expense would be a major motivator to act on it, I would think.

I don’t think it’s like Sergio planned for or wanted Liz harmed, or dead.

Well, what does a big insurance company with a huge claim do when the husband of the murdered wife is in a rush to get the money? They send own detectives. And given how overwhelmed the police is, adding a professional with more time digging into one's personal history is not what a widower would be interested in. I think SB wants this case to be solved/closed, and then he's claim the money.

You read my mind.

If their marriage was in a good place, with no issues, no affairs, nothing...then who close to Liz had MEANS? and MOTIVE?
Is it possible someone was tracing her whereabouts with an Apple AirTag or Sergio?
The timing from when Sergio lives is beyond crazy super tight timing? How could someone spy without being across the street? Any neighbors resent them? Is anyone upset with their garage sales?

There are many ways to spy, but I think the main reason for the rush is, they wanted to be done while it would be still dark.

<modsnip: off topic>

I have the feeling that the connection between LB and the killer is close, but not direct. For example, when LB found out that her father couldn't be there, she could call a friend asking to help, and someone overheard. Or, asked someone to walk the dog.

These two still bug me a lot. The logistics are weird.
1) WHY enter the school parking lot? Makes no sense. Were they pulling off the road to hide from someone specific? Like did maybe a car similar to S-s car turn into view at that point and they panicked? Or did they spot someone else that would have recognized them? Or did they really think a school parking lot of all places would be lovely for some prep?? Did they know the cameras were not working? How could they know that - employee of the school or a family member of someone like that, working at a security company?
2) Where were they hiding after that? Why was that not their first option?
3) When arriving, why does the car initially pass Liz (at a rather high speed) and turn around? Simply to exit the same way, like maybe least businesses and cameras on that exit? Or were they actually surprised she was out there? Or were they scouting the activity on the street, number of witnesses?
4) Why does the car pass Liz again after shooting her and having fled the scene? To check if she's still on the ground? To check the reaction of the neighbourhood? Because they heard sirens coming that way? Because they had access to the police scanners and heard the car description going out? It is very risky to drive back.
5) And what are they doing when they pass at 2 AM? For scouting, 2 AM does not seem like the best option - it is not busy to try to "blend in", but it is also not the time when almost all people are asleep or tired (try around ~4, that's what they do in wars). It is very risky to be there repeatedly, on several cameras etc. Why do they drive by at 2? What's the purpose that they cannot get via, say, checking google maps? Is it only the driver in the car - they also have to look at the road and drive, so what can they really do during the brief passing by? And where are they going? What are they doing in the less than 5 hours between this drive and the morning actions?

I am still hopeful that they have more video of the car - maybe not of the plate or driver, but just to put their odd actions on the map.

I feel like I am missing some key fact to make it make sense. I would put most money on the hypothesis that the killer is the person that wanted her dead and I think the motive was emotional, revenge-based (jealousy, thinking she did something unforgivable, possessive ex, scorned love interest) and probably not super recent (involves some level of stalking and preping, at least for weeks if nor for many years with re-activation due to some stressor). But I am not ruling out anything else, either. For all I know, it could be really anything.
I just thought of this...In re: the 2 am drive-by.. Could it have been to possibly sync a device somehow? Maybe the shooter had to be in close proximity to a device (in the Barrazas household, vehicle, or the ring cam??) to sync with a device in their possession...I really don't know if it had to be in close proximity to do that...These days I'm pretty sure you just need someone's email and password to do that..It almost seems like I had to sync my tablet to my phone that way once..So, I'm really not sure if that's a possibility.

At 10:10 in that video interview, Liz's mother says that when Liz had garage sales in the past, she would typically join Liz at around 10 am, bringing coffee with her. However, the original plan for this particular garage sale was that Liz's parents would both be joining her at the beginning, but they changed those plans the night before the garage sale.

There is a very limited universe of people who would gain awareness of that change in plans which left Liz alone in the early morning hours before the sale began, although it is possible that the perpetrator(s) relied on the more "typical" arrangement, where Liz's parents would not arrive until 10 am.

IMO, for this to involve a hired hit, it must have been prearranged, but the perpetrator(s) were awaiting the perfect opportunity to activate the plan when they could be certain Liz would be alone with few people up and about to witness or intervene. So, any "hired" hit person would essentially have to be on call and living (or visiting) close enough to activate for this very risky move without much notice. They'd likely have to be close enough to make it for the 2 am drive-by after learning of Liz's parents' change in plans just the night before.
Seems like the logical answer is that the shooter was 'dialed in' or had inside info, imo. jmo

He has told people that he got it, but that he’s never used it. As someone that has dealt with life insurance, I don’t believe he got it. You have to be cleared as suspect of the person that was murdered and he’s never officially been cleared. But if he did get it and hasn’t touched it, I am sure the amount is massive now with interest.
Does anyone know the reason L and S never had children?
One of the things about this case that isn’t our business. I’m not going to speculate about this. And it seems in poor taste when others do.

One burning question I have is, did SB have any knowledge of the crime? If he did, when he did....mho

That's what I am also wondering. If no one called to sync up when SB left then how did they know? Just lucky?
Is someone close enough to the family to slip an AirTag on his van?

That makes sense hide their identity in the dark also hoping people are either still asleep or too busy in the morning to pay attention to any truck or shooter.

Maybe, SB left his car at the morning meeting point and used something like a corporate bus with his workers? Time for manipulating his car in some way.
Idk, if he ever changed the vehicle and if his company has workers/employees. Speculation only.

This has always interested me because he didn’t leave at his usual time
That day, according to him and his neighbors. So the killer just “got lucky” that he wasn’t there.

Air Tags were not released until April, 2021.
There would have had to be a forerunner make and model of another tracker for that to be a viable theory.

Change of SB’s schedule due to garage sale. LB Dad canceling on being there. Garage sale early enough for the set up not to be in broad daylight. Timing of the act to be right after SB left. This to me is someone who is in their inner circle, has intimate knowledge of the Barrazas and has probably been waiting quite a while for a moment like this to come up. Or….someone with access to their daily movements like a neighbor and in that case, got lucky that nobody showed up to help LB set up. It makes me wonder if LB had seen something suspicious and reported it.

Did they have AirTags, then...? Sorry probably dumb question.

Thanks. I was wondering about that...I'm thinking more like Google maps location sharing, timeline sharing, etc.
Maybe just have to have the person you're 'tracking' Gmail account info or be able to locate the info somehow...Not to proud of this, but I've spied on my boyfriend's phone before, lol. I also know that a guy stalked my niece that way....

I have no idea but someone could track someone's movement if you put one in or on someone's personal property or van.

Or someone borrowed SB's phone and added spyware. It's possible. But I would hope LE found it!

Someone with IT knowledge please let me know if I'm way off base.

Going with the inner circle theory; this person may be someone close to them that stayed at their house before and had access to their wifi. I wonder if this person was able to access their nest cam with the Barraza's wifi. Perhaps they pulled into the school and when they realized it was too far to pick up the Barraza's wifi, they moved to conceal to a street where the wifi was able to be picked up. Would explain why the perp was at the school for 10 seconds.

There is currently much speculation on this thread about family who may be involved with murdering Liz Burazza. My question about why they never had children isn’t meant to judge or pry, but simply to understand the picture surrounding Liz.

If that offends you, I’m sorry. It’s not meant to be offensive, but to try to figure out what happened regarding why Luz was murdered and who did it. In my book, considering all the rest that has been discussed, it’s just part of the picture.
