Family seeking justice 6 years after loved one's killing

Six years after her death, the family of Liz Barraza is speaking out about her death.

“One thing I can say that we’re looking at is who else—who else would benefit?” said Sgt. Richie. “We all know we’ve investigated Sergio, the husband, and again, he’s been nothing but compliant. We have found nothing that would say he was involved.”

Authorities have also examined financial motives, including a life insurance policy that remains unpaid.

“If it’s not her husband, we all know there was life insurance involved, which is still not being paid. Sergio has not asked for that,” Richie explained. “So, what I’m trying to look at is who else maybe would have benefited from her death. And that’s another avenue I’m trying to explore.”

Detectives have also utilized investigative tools such as geofencing technology to gather information, and Sgt. Richie indicated that additional subpoenas are being pursued.

Godspeed on those subpoenas....6 years is an eternity for her loved ones.

If SB claims to not have known about the life insurance policy or thought it wasn't that much, how would his father be privy to that information either way? IMO, if OB inquired about that information SB would have said something.

We Remember Memorial Project

Harris County Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsay P.E. working with Crime Stoppers of Houston, and Rosemary and I have embarked on an ambitious program to create a place of remembrance in all 72 parks in Precinct 3.

Each installation will include a tree, a special bench with an inscription, and a permanent sign with information on the memorial. Crime Stoppers of Houston will be providing the trees for these memorials and will select the Victim families to receive the dedication. We will all work together to ensure the completion of each installation.

The QR Code on the sign leads to a page on the Crime Stoppers of Houston website:

Not redundant....at all, a good refresher. I think most of us need one after 6 long years of waiting on justice.

APARTMENT BURGLARY
the burglary was years before the murder when Liz and Sergio lived in an 3rd floor apartment. They bought their house in April 2016.

Here, Sergio briefly talks about being cautious due to break-in, getting nest cam and Liz not being afraid of anything before her murder.

Here, her parents also briefly speak about the break-in making her cautious and how dedicated someone must have been to break in since it was on the third floor.

WORK PLACE
gunshot into her building.....we never really heard more about this, at least I didn't. Fellow member below and podcaster morf13. His source was Paul Holes. The Paul Holes show/episode was never released. Liz's father mentions this episode as never being released due to the tv network being sold.

I just stumbled upon this 4-episode podcast from February called "Unknown Reasons: The Life and Death of Liz Barraza," produced by Tomball High School's Cougar Claw newspaper, Liz's alma mater.

I hope everyone has access to Spotify. It’s a great listen. Some of the volume is a little wonky so Turn it Up.

Bob and Rosemary Nuelle discuss Liz's childhood, her phases: tom boy, goth, punk. Her hobbies: reading, their shared love of music.

A friend is also interviewed, recalling the day she got the news/call from Sergio, not comprehending the gravity of Liz's injuries. Racing to the hospital.

This really got to me, the last text Mr. Nuelle received from Liz regarding the garage sale and how it took months for him to reread it and for her final words to sink in. Absolutely heartbreaking for him to carry that weight.

How and where her ashes were spread.

Grab your Kleenex…but there are some funny stories too.

Praying justice comes soon 🫶...and the killer(s) rot in Eternal H&LL

Houston Crime Stoppers determined to help Texas family get justice for the 2019 shooting of Liz Barraza; up to $50,000 reward offered

Liz’s father, Robert Nuelle Jr., recently recorded a quick video for Crime Stoppers. He shared the news that he received a cancer diagnosis in June, and would be fighting it hard. “I am extremely positive and hopeful,” Bob told the organization. “You guys are family to us. I am going to fight this thing as hard as I can for as long as I can.”

View attachment 609074

In his video message, Bob had one other thing to say to the team at Crime Stoppers: “I am so grateful for all the support you’ve given us over the years,” he said. “Just keep this in mind: We ain’t done yet.”

Andy Kahan agrees. “Six years have gone by, and technology has improved. So there’s been the detectives that — that I’ve worked so closely with this. This — again, this is so near and dear to their heart. We meet regularly, and they’ve been able to use some of the advances in technology,” he said. “The bottom line is there’s somebody out there that knows who did this. And so we’re hoping that-- that you get a bolt, that you get a conscience, and you want to unburden yourself.”

“I’ve made a vow to Bob and Rosemary,” Kahan told Dateline. “You know, I’m — I’m never gonna leave what I’m doing until this case is solved.”

a quote from Mr. Nuelle, True Crime Unsolved Episode,

"I want that money. I mean, we raised 30,000 of that money ourselves.

I want that money to go to someone who took the risk of turning in these heartless animals that killed my daughter because I recognize that there's a risk.

You know, these guys clearly, clearly are not afraid to kill anyone they feel like killing.

and if you're willing to believe in the anonymity and come forward and break this case, I will never know who you are.

I will pray for you until the day I die because that's an extraordinary piece of courage and that's really what we're hoping for is we're hoping that someone will call the tip line and drop the tip that breaks this case."
****************************
My biggest worry is loved ones and family won't live to see the justice they seek in these horrific cases.

The quote breaks my heart; he is the courageous one.

Praying he wins both battles; the fight against cancer and the fight for justice 4 Liz.
