Found Deceased TX - Emily Wade, 38, Ennis, Ellis County, 5 Jan 2019

Nothing I have read has released this information other than her phone was turned off prior to leaving the friends home around 830.
Which in itself, is strange. Why turn off the phone if she was headed home, to be home by 9:00? Which was when her mom was expecting her.

I'm way behind. Was the friend she saw that night cleared? Last I read he wasn't, but not named a POI either.

From what I read, the baby father, mother, and the friend, have been eliminated as POIs.

I find that odd. Either someone took her phone and turned it off....or she turned it off not wanting to answer calls....which makes my stomach sink.

They seem to be very sure she went off the road or got lost more than foul play. Search teams brought in immediately with a 🤬🤬🤬 to support them and the fb pages full of what areas have been searched over and over again.
Nothing much on gossip central! If they do have a poi it's being kept on the downlow!

For some reason this is kind of reminding me of the Micky S disappearance down in Louisiana who went missing on her bike on her way home.

Going off the road in a vehicle and no one finding you is certainly more common in rugged terrain, swampy areas, or heavy brush. The Ennis area is mostly flat open land with very few bodies of water. Hwy 45 to Dallas has access/side roads abutting the highway, so not likely to go missing there.

Seems unlikely to me that her disappearance is a car accident. I think something bad happened here.

The chances of me or anyone that I know actually turning my phone off as I leave a friend's house is close to zero. That is when you want your phone, for many reasons.

There are other reasons that a phone would be turned off in this situation, and some of the reasons can be nefarious.

"no foul play is suspected. Investigators have not ruled out any suspects"
Does this make sense?
Not in the least.

I know there’s been conflicting information coming out in general on this case but my understanding was the phone was “disabled” meaning it could’ve been turned off but it also could have run out of battery. (I read that she had a flip phone.)

Well, they can't rule people out until they decide there has been a crime.

Has anyone heard mention of where and when her phone last pinged?

I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere. If LE thought this was an accident, would they typically release the last ping location to the public? Thanks in advance.

No sorry necessary. MSM has conflicting reports on every aspect about this case. It's been an absolute mixed-messages mess.

I was a reporter many years ago. So I dont really find it unusual.

Most times when LE asks for the public's assistance, they do release info such as this..if they know it. The last person who heard from her by phone may give this info to them for example. Not sure what kind of phone she even had. Someone upthread mentioned a flip phone, which I did not hear before. If true, they don't even ping do they?

ETA. Oh that was you. LOL. Do you have a link about the flip phone, by any chance?

Can you explain it? Is it a rush to be first with the headliner? So much so that facts are not checked? Or LE is misquoted? I'm curious because it happens on here for ever case I participate in. TIA

Sometimes. We know in the Kelsey Berreth case they released the last ping location only three days after she was reported missing.

There is a post on the FB page regarding a creek area that has not been able to be checked due to high water over the bridge. That was apparently earlier in the week; so if you are in a strange rural area, it is easy to get turned around.

I am leaning toward accident, but I also have one person that seems to be annoying to me. I can’t put my finger on it, but some comments have me pause.

Praying she is found soon.

There is a highway here near a lake. A friend had a couple of drinks, wasn't paying attention and ended up in it. They didn't find him for months. It wasn't really far out of town, just no one considered that turn one that people miss (you'd have to go across an onramp and into the water). I think it was the first time it had ever happened, and it's a man made lake, so the water isn't exactly clear. He had a unfortunate combination of factors. I'm leaning towards accident.
