Found Deceased TX - Emily Wade, 38, Ennis, Ellis County, 5 Jan 2019

Media is all over the place with conflicting info and short-cutting who said what...IMO. Anyway, I see that it's possible that someone mentioned this to the sister-in-law and she agreed to check it out. Then that's the story DM went with.
But again, LE should be all over that, not the sister in law.

Was the prayer vigil earlier this evening streamed online?
They tried unsuccessfully on the official Facebook page.

  • #263
Yes, but if the sister in law repeated it to the reporter from Heavy.....it's just strange and why would she say that?!
Why is that strange? It seems only logical that when you're trying to locate someone who is missing that you would discuss places they are known to visit. ?

I know right? Everything I read mainly states how the family (her brother, mother, sister-in-law) are running these searches and how they were able to get Cajun Search to come to town and also search. All the updates and photos are from friends, townspeople and the Cajun Search group. Of course, there may be more info from LE on their page - I haven't checked that often.

I have never seen posts regarding possible physical or mental ailments be removed or snipped due to TOS. Not sure where that idea is coming from. Mentioning these possibilities is not victim shaming.
I understand that TOS can be frustrating sometimes but the rules aren't so strict that we can't discuss possible reasons for someone to have gone missing, including physical, mental or emotional issues.

There was an earlier comment from someone, who had he/she gone the verified route maybe would have been allowed to stay up. That poster has not been back and the post was removed.

From this LINK

Police told NBC News that Wade’s ex-boyfriend, Jared Jones, has been questioned and cleared as a suspect. The male co-worker whose house Wade went to before her disappearence has also been interviewed by police. While police do not have any suspects or persons of interest and have not determined if there was any wrongdoing by anyone, they have also not ruled anyone out, including the co-worker, NBC News reports.--------

So - was it says JJ was questioned and cleared as a suspect. THEN it says they have not ruled anyone out, including co-worker.

Which is it? Is JJ cleared or not? The reporting on this case is giving me a headache.

I noticed that too. Here's what I think. JJ has been cleared as a suspect. They don't have anyone they are willing to call a POI at this time and the co-worker has not been ruled out. (not cleared) At this time they don't even know if anyone did anything to her. (i think they have an inkling tho)

I am proud of the high standards that are expected of us as members of Websleuths. The experience of those of us who have been here awhile is that we can expect discussions to stay on topic and not include unfounded speculation without verification of it coming from a reasonable source. How WS goes about determining reasonable sources is the prerogative of the owner, and as members we agree to it. While it would be interesting to indulge ourselves in no holds barred discussion, most of us know from other forums and FB in general how quickly that can break down into ugliness. WS DOES provide an opportunity to discuss topics out of bounds to our forum on private messages, aka conversations. We are free to do that. Otherwise, complaining about restrictions here does not seem very productive to me as we discuss this case within our TOS. This is all of course, my own opinion, and what I believe.

I agree with you, mostly. I *do* think they are sure she hasn't walked away or suicide. I think it is *possible* she got turned around and someone who lives/has land in that area found her and did something. This still has me wondering where the car is but that's the case with any scenario.

I also think they have a someone on their radar (heck, I live in another town and I already have someone on my radar). They are too intentional about where they are sending search teams for this just to be random search.

IMHO the lack of information from LE speaks volumes and they are connecting dots.

I am not sure LE thinks a crime has been committed. I am not sure either. Jmo in most cases the car is found abandoned if she was attacked etc...

Someone recorded the prayer vigil. Sorry, I did not know where to write on the post, once I posted this video. Prayers to the family and all who are searching to bring Emily home.

You said a mouthful.

"Lt. Michael Hopson with the Ennis Police Department said Jones is not a suspect, but no one in the case has been cleared."

I read it several times and it gave me a headache too!

I read earlier police were not actively pulling video camera tapes from local businesses! I find that very strange if true.

Anybody hearing it video is in fact being viewed? Seems that could provide clues in at least direction!

I don't understand why the police are not viewing any local footage (businesses, residential, dash cam) from the evening of 5 January, i mean why would they not? Surely any footage of that evening to see if Emily's car could be seen would be useful, even for elimination purposes. There doesn't appear to be any public appeal from LE for video footage, i just don't get it.

I agree with this.

The reason why the post was removed, IMO, is because s/he posted something that did not come from a source allowed under the TOS (typically MSM, verified insiders, court records, and approved “Help Find ...” FB pages) as fact.

For me personally, so long as the information is coming from a verifiable source, it doesn’t make a difference whether the missing person has a history of alcohol or drug addiction, prostitution, running away, let alone mental or physical illnesses. All I care about is that the person is found safe and in a timely manner, meaning before s/he is harmed, whether due to an accident, at their own hands or someone else’s.

What in the world would make you think that they are not doing just that? It's just that it takes a lot of time to not only GATHER the tapes/videos, but them to shuffle through them all. I'm sure they are continuing to do this.

On any of her possible routes back home, are there any sharp turns that she may have missed that would cause her to go into a wooded area or lake area? I have seen that scenerio happen on other cases. She was new to town and may have missed a corner. Also, would it still be somewhat light out at 8:30pm there?
