Found Deceased TX - Emily Wade, 38, Ennis, Ellis County, 5 Jan 2019

I agree with zecats and texsun posts directly above. I just re-watched the video on Ennis PD page and they’re specific about the fact that Emily was last seen by her mother at 5pm.

To texsun’s point, I’m also no longer leaning in the direction of an accident. I think LE believe foul play was involved. I think if they thought she had an accident, they would be more specific about location details.

In the past, a person went missing from my neighborhood. I became friends with the missing person’s sister. The official information on last know where abouts was not even close to where LE knew she was last seen. Turned out to be foul play. The official information coming from LE on that case was vague on purpose. They didn’t really want help from the public. They already had a suspect even though they weren’t calling this person a suspect and even said the person was cooperating.

Again MOO!
. RBBM. Would the family have more info than the public though? They are still organizing searches all over town and around the lakes, on foot, on horseback, etc. I don't believe LE would want the family to find anything if indeed this was a crime. One, because of evidence destruction, and Two, because of the emotional impact. IMO

I noticed there’s a beer distributor on S Clay St. looks like it’s closed on Saturdays (maybe a local can confirm) but maybe they have cameras that captured her driving. The video from LE that I linked in a previous post said she was “driving southbound on Clay St”. MOO

I don't find too much BS on (at least) the official Facebook page, run by her sister-in-law and coordinated with a couple other admins and family, her brother mainly. They keep it honest and are open to most comments.

There are so many groups of people (so it seems) helping with the searching that often people witness things or find things that possibly could be related. IMO their questions are not meant to derail any investigation, and do not state that there is a definite connection.

Obviously, there are a few who run with these posts and in presuming them to be linked to the case, ask rather personal questions. Curiosity gets to the best of us, even here on WS.

Not sure about other supposed SMS groups or platforms. I haven't seen any reporting through Twitter, as in other cases. And LE has been mysteriously silent - not even any PC's.
Hi Zecats, that’s good to hear . I was really speaking in general about how social media has affected LE’s communication with us and being less forthcoming with information on cases like this. This seems to have become the trend over the last few years, at least on the cases I’ve followed.

In the older case that I refer to.. LE didn’t give the family more information than the public. The family found out from other means.

All of these searches but not one more press conference. Why?

It's almost like ants running all over a bill with no direction! Are LE involved at all???

The only way I know anything about LE is from the Facebook page, where it is continually stated that they are investigating, that people should call with tips, that people should not interfere with this investigation. Yet the searches continue.

I understand they have a need to do something - to search and feel useful/empowered. It's better, IMO, than sitting around doing nothing and just feeling the emotions that come with a missing loved one.

It's a sad situation and I feel much sorrow for the family.

Yes it's puzzling and I think some inaccurate reporting going on too! They mention a coworker and they mention a friend. Are those two one and the same?
I also notice the fellow leading the charge with the dogs has the same last name as Emily. Wade. Are they related?

In the video for the vigil, her brother commented that the lead searcher is not related to them, though they think of him like family now. I think last name is just a coincidence.

My take is that 5pm is when her mother last saw her...not when she was last seen.

I read a comment from her mom that as of 15 hours ago (Facebook BringEmilyHome), she has been told nothing. The only thing she knows is “her baby is not home.”

Heartbreaking.

Something is not right. No PC's, no direct piece to camera pleas. No witness's coming forward, no car, phone off or battery down. Bank account not touched. Co-workers not wanting to be interviewed, etc..

And do we know for definite whom was the last person to see her?

It also might be they have completely cleared mom, but there are holes in coworker/friend’s story so that last sighting isn’t as set in stone.

I would of thought that LE had some input, they can't just let people search without some direction surely? What happens if one of these parties does find something, there would be a possibility of contaminating any evidence at the scene without any police supervision as well as possibly violating health and safety regulations.

The brother said that an officer drove him around to show him the lay of the land on his first day in town. Sounds like they approve of the searches. It’s just not clear whether they approve because they don’t suspect foul play or if they do and know searchers won’t find her in places they are looking.

I agree with your thinking. Just one quick thought. 5 o'clock might be the last time a family member saw Emily but who knows who claimed to see her after that?
I'm thinking they have a pretty good idea what happened but are just trying to find her and letting the family be in charge of the search.
Still strange way to do things.

Oh thank you. I was confused on that one because he seems quite in control of the searching.

You could well be right, possibly it's some kind of PR between the police and Emily's family & friends? I do think that LE know a lot more than they are letting on, they do seem quite reluctant to let the public know what avenues they are pursuing in this case.

If the place she went for pizza/movie is on a large rural property, volunteer searchers wouldn’t be able to search this location. Just thinking out loud. MOO

This is where I am firmly sitting, well. I feel like LE considers Emily's mom's sighting as the last credible sighting (credible, meaning the other persons story isn't lining up, holes, or it just cannot be verified).

And using mrstfs link, I do wonder why her friend isn't helping look. It has been said the friend was cooperating - so he is cooperating but not helping look for his friend? Curious.
