If the place she went for pizza/movie is on a large rural property, volunteer searchers wouldn’t be able to search this location. Just thinking out loud. MOO
I am *extremely curious* as to which - if any - rural properties have been searched by LE.

A warrant would take care of that. Probable cause needed though. But if that was the last place she actually was (not including her car), would that be enough? And "cooperating friend" would maybe allow a search.
All JMO. And nothing other than rumor that an outside of the town address was involved.

They would need permission or a search warrant.

I was referring to the volunteer searchers not LE, however you raise good questions about search warrants. I’m really curious if LE obtained any search warrants. MOO

I think only public places are being searched by non-LE, right? That has been my impression, but I could be wrong.

That’s my impression also. My original post on the topic was me thinking out loud that those non LE searchers would be limited in where they can search. I was being vague on purpose... ;-) MOO

Doesn't seem like LE is taking same steps I have seen in other missing persons cases.. So either they know something or ?? (not bashing LE just curious)

Hope for some news for her family soon they seem to be doing all they can.. Xx

They seem to be acting very similar to other cases I’ve seen when they know something but working on obtaining enough evidence to act. MOO

It has to be whatever is not being said/shown is very telling here. No press conferences, no one really doing interviews etc. there has to be a reason for that. There is very very little information and now the last confirmed sighting is back at 5pm. Meaning the co-workers story of her leaving at 8.30 isn’t verified or there never was a movie night and something else happened there at who knows what time. Just my opinion. Hoping for Emily’s safe return!

I first heard of Emily on NG podcast.

What’s the best way via the web to differentiate between a private and public road in Ennis?

This is my experience as well. I think the very much have valuable information, but are working on getting enough to bring the right person to justice and still find her.

General question: Any experts here who can explain what’s needed for LE to obtain a search warrant for someone’s property in Texas? Is being the last known location of a missing person enough? TIA

Except for press conferences. And/or updating their webpage. Most other cases have at least addressed the public. I've seen locals asking if it's safe to be out and about. Or if the public should or should not be concerned.

On the Ennis Police Page. No response.

I'm thinking LE knows enough about what happened; that they don't need the public's help/interference. It is the only reason I can think of as to why we know so little. Abduction or suicide- and they know which way it is going.

This thinking is consistent with KB's case, where LE shut down information once they identified that all paths lead to PF.

Something to consider here, and in any case, in fact. License plate readers can keep track of vehicles at tool roads, parking garages, in passing on the road by dash cams..

This is something that could spot her vehicle, even now, if it's still being driven. Personally I don't think it is, rather it's lost due to an accident or hidden somewhere, depending on theory I believe. It changes moment to moment.

Not an expert, so googled it... looks like they have to have probable cause based on testimony and/or electronic data. Highlights BBM

"A sworn affidavit setting forth substantial facts establishing probable cause shall be filed in every instance in which a search warrant is requested."

"For purposes of this article, a magistrate may consider information communicated by telephone or other reliable electronic means in determining whether to issue a search warrant. The magistrate may examine an applicant for a search warrant and any person on whose testimony the application is based."

I agree. I just don't know enough about the friend/coworker to say it is him they are looking at or someone else. I do sadly think this is looking more and more like foul play. MOO :(

has it been reported if the friend she was watching the movie with lives in a large apartment complex kind of place or a small area ( house with apartments)?

Not that I've seen specifically. I initially thought it was an apartment when it was reported her car was seen in town 0n S Clay Street. But I've read other accounts that the friend lived outside of town. Then again there are conflicting reports that she changed at a co-worker's house and then went to the friend's house. Who, what, where?

Seems there are no definitive answers to many of our questions.
