My daughter lives next door to Emma's aunt and cousin (who is a spitfire little redhead too) and she told me that witch of a mother was up for parole already. I was shocked. They both should have gotten the death penalty as far as I am concerned.

The truly sad thing is that Abigail Young will be eligible for parole EVERY YEAR until the end of her sentence. So we are going to need to make this an annual event. We need to bombard the Texas DOJ for the next 18 years!!

Even with all we've done I will not be surprised if she is released on parole. We may have made a difference this year, IDK. I guess we'll see sometime after 4/30, but there is no doubt in my mind she will be released much sooner than she deserves, no matter what we do.

I do promise, as long as I am physically able to do so, I will protest her release.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to beg that Abigail Young, the biological mother of Emma Thompson (state ID number is 08428403, TDCJ ID 01668233) please not be granted parole.

Abigail Young had every opportunity in the world to protect her daughter, Emma Thompson from the horrible death that occurred on June 27, 2009. Rather than protect her daughter, or even seek immediate help for her, Abigail Young chose to clean the bathroom and then to drive her unconscious daughter to the hospital herself, which allowed Abigail’s boyfriend, Lucas Coe, time to leave the area.

Lucas Coe brutally raped and beat 4 year old Emma Thompson, and was protected by Abigail Young. This woman does not deserve freedom, and if there is any justice to be demonstrated for Emma Thompson, it must include punishment for both Lucas Coe and Abigail Young.



Please, by all that is right and just in this world, do not parole Abigail Young. Please.

Please accept this letter as my staunch support for any and every roadblock to the parole of Abigail Young. The horror that she allowed to be inflicted upon her baby, her little girl, is beyond words. It's sickening. And the very concept of her receiving such an early parole (only 19 months off a 20 year sentence) is nauseating. I do comprehend that the justice system has certain opportunities for inmates to apply early, and I am not arguing that. I agree that justice has to run it's course through the checks and balances of our great system.
What appalls me is the very idea that she could, possibly, get out. There is no 'getting out' for Emma. There is no kindergarten, no first time on the school bus. There is no more visits from Santa, no junior high dances, no prom. There is no more life for Emma, and Ms. Young has been convicted for the role that she played in ending Emma's life. I sincerely hope that the outpouring of support that I see on various websites and social media campaigns, translates into letters full of indignation that this parole could occur.

Please accept my strenuous objection to her parole. Please, don't let Emma down. Her Mommy already did - in the worst way imaginable. Please, give her the justice that she so richly deserves.

I am writing you today to urge the board to deny parole or any other type of leniency be extended to convict Abigail Young.

This woman failed in every role she had. As a nurse she used her skills and knowledge to hide the horrific abuse that was going on while she watched. Any four year old child requiring treatment for a sexually transmitted disease would have been removed from the home immediately. But Emma didn't get that opportunity because Abigail Young manipulated the system for her own selfish desires and Emma payed the ultimate price.

The State of Texas did the right thing when they charged her with such a serious crime and sentenced her to the maximum allowable for her crimes. Please do not let this conniving and manipulating animal back out on the streets. It is unacceptable to think she has served less time than Emma lived. Has Abigail been raped and tortured while those charged with her care looked on and refused to help? Of course not. Fortunately for Abigail evil of that magnitude is rarely found. During her time in prison she has been protected, cared for and her rights protected. If she had protected her daughter she wouldn't be where she is. She made those choices. Choices that impact her life, her families lives, and most importantly choices that ended the tortured life of a four year old girl.

Please continue to do what is right and deny this parole request.

To whom It May Concern:

I am asking you to deny parole to Abigail Young, the mother of four-year-old Emma Thompson who was brutally abused, raped and murdered by Young’s boyfriend, Lucas Coe in 2009. Abigail Young did nothing to protect her daughter, but abetted Coe before and after Emma’s murder. She was sentenced to twenty years in prison for her role in Emma’s death.

Please do not allow Abigail Young to be released from prison, as she did not value her own daughter’s life. Emma’s life ended abruptly and unmercifully when she was just barely four years old. Justice will not be served if the person responsible for Emma’s well-being, who daily placed Emma’s life in jeopardy, is permitted to go free after serving only 19 months of her sentence. Emma, an innocent child, paid the ultimate price for her mother’s selfishness. Abigail Young needs to pay the full price for her actions.

Wow.. you all are wonderful. Thanks to everyone who sent letters. I, regretfully missed the deadline but will be sure to send one next year. It is sick that this "woman" is even eligible for parole. I'll never understand how a "mother" could ever choose a boyfriend over her own flesh and blood, her baby! It sickens me to my very core..

The 14th Court of Appeals affirmed Coe’s conviction this week. (ETA 5/26/12)

Coe was found guilty on September 21st, 2010 and sentenced to life without parole two days later. Coe immediately filed an appeal...
