Goody, it's not the same church that Andrea was involved in.
O, thanks for clearing that up. Hopefully he learned his lesson there.

Holmes said the hardest thing to understand is why Yates did not intervene at that point. "Put himself between the children and her. He could've always had Andrea committed. I will say that until the day I die."

I don't know. It is really hard to get an adult relative committed if they won't agree to go, esp with the way ins companies put so many restrictions on what they will pay for and how long. I think Rusty had a problem bigger...much bigger...than he could handle and just plain didn't know what to do about it. If he had been independently wealthy, he could have contained her in the west wing of the house and hired nurses to keep track of her and a full time nanny for the kids. Working class folks don't have access to such solutions. Maybe he could have done more than he did, but I am sure his hands were tied in may ways.

He wore sunglasses to his wedding. Pretty damned appropriate. He must have been wearing them all throughout his marriage to Andrea to have not seen how sick she was!
I wish he had waited until this trial was over to get married again. I am not sure doing it right now was appropriate. If he waited this long, what would a few more weeks be?

I am NOT defending Randy in any way, but maybe the date was set before she was granted a new trial or before the new trial date was announced. I know he probably could have postponed it until after the trial. I was just thinking of any reason why he would do it 2 days before Andrea's trial. I suppose he will not attend this trial. Did he attend the last one:waitasec: I don't remember.

Its Rusty.

If he's subpoenaed, he'll be there. I don't see why he wouldn't. Of course, he doesn't strike me as the 10-day honeymoon type of guy either, so I don't think that will be a problem.

I haven't read through all the posts yet on Rusty's re-marriage, but just wanted to say that this just reinforces to me the kind of uncaring, rotten, 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 that man really is.

I was on vacation last week and when we got home and turned on the news, there it was. I was furious. IMO, he has absolutely no right to be able to go on with his life in a normal fashion. :furious::furious:

I think the only reason Rusty was so visible and fighting for Andrea AFTER she drowned their children was to only ease his guilt and look like a hero. This man is no hero - he is a controlling male behind the scenes and trys to appear as the humble hubby to everyone else. Makes me sick.

They just said on the news that the trial has been delayed. I think they said June 26. Two witnesses who had testified in the first trial were not available.

One being the horny ex-hubby.

I think Andrea Yates is the epitome of legal insanity. If there are to be any laws allowing for the recognition of insanity as a defense, they should apply in her case.

I agree with those who believe a mental hospital is the correct place for Andrea Yates to be incarcerated.

As usual, I agree with you.

Moreover, I certainly would not have found Andrea to be "guilty" in her first trial. I hope this jury sees the light. However, we are dealing with another Texas jury; so hang on tight, the ride ahead is totally unpredictable.

Rusty Yates got married a week ago or so..

If this goes elsewhere or already exists forgive me and delete..I just this second heard on NG that Rusty Yates got married a short time ago and you should see his wife-drop dead young and gorgeous..:furious:
:furious:

I am so mad at how this has turned out-andrea is in jail or screwed up or both for the rest of her days and rusty is divorced-making good cash still-and no kids..and now a glamorous wife..what would any woman see in him????:banghead: :banghead:

Yep.
Anyone see the photos? He has a new maroon colored Corvette, she is thin, youngish, pretty hairdo, stylish wedding gown.
Rusty looks dumpy to me.

I hope to goodness she is on the Pill and never goes off it. Rusty deprived and neglected Andrea after it was evident that she needed help, not babies.

So, if Andrea is found legally insane this time, can Russell be charged with negligence or reckless endangerment for leaving the kids with her? Let's hope he will be served!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually the article says she is 41. Maybe she has had some work done????

See the first post on this thread. I read the news articles about her which accompanied the photos, so I knew her age. She looks younger than 41, although I don't consider that to be ancient. She looks " youngish".
