I have not seen the cause of death yet. I think this whole entire family needs to be investigated. Poor kid didn't have a chance. IMO
Hey guys! I just came across this today on my Facebook! Waco Fosters Love 2020, Waco Fosters Love 2020
It's a program to decorate (and fill) duffle bags with items for kids in Foster Care. Mods, please delete if this is not allowed, with my apologies.
While I appreciate local businesses pitching in for Frankie's funeral I must admit I'm not as excited about an upcoming fundraiser stating:
"All proceeds from the night will go toward future expenses for his family."
Bubba's 33 to host fundraiser for Frankie Gonzalez's family
IMO it's a windfall to a group of people who didn't step up when Frankie was alive so why throw money at them now? JMO.
Thank you so much! My daughter and her family live close to Waco, my grand-daughter LOVES to draw and paint. I sent her this link for her to volunteer!
Hopefully, but I've not read anything that says the money will go to the kids who are now in foster care. So if it goes to Villalon's family then why should they benefit from the death of a child? Frankie's funeral is being paid for by local businesses. his siblings have gone into foster care, not to family, nor were her other kids who were removed in 2015. There's also a history of drug abuse in the family:Hopefully by family it is referring to his brothers and sisters. One can only hope.
MOO

Maternal grandparents who were living with Villalon and her children at the time [2015] also tested positive for cocaine, DFPS reports show.
State seeks to terminate parental rights of woman charged in toddler's death
I get that people want to help but IMO giving the family spending money without earmarking it specifically for Frankie's surviving siblings is misguided. MOO.

State seeks to terminate parental rights of woman charged in toddler's death
June 3, 2020
As mourning continued Wednesday for toddler Frankie Gonzales, state child welfare workers sought to terminate his mother’s parental rights to two other children, and records revealed that her rights to six other children were taken from her five years ago.
Laura Sanchez, 35, who was charged Tuesday with first-degree felony injury to a child in her 2-year-old son’s death, remained in jail Wednesday on a $500,000 bond. She is also being held on allegations of parole violations.

Petitions seeking to terminate Laura Sanchez’s parental rights to her 3-year-old and 4-month-old children were not publicly available Wednesday because Associate Judge Nikki Mundkowsky ordered them sealed.

Sanchez, also known as Laura Jane Villalon, was released from prison in May 2019 after serving time for a burglary of a habitation conviction and was scheduled to remain on parole through September 2022 before her arrest this week. Before she was sent to prison, Sanchez was on probation, but it was revoked for continued drug use and other violations, records show.

Maternal grandparents who were living with Villalon and her children at the time also tested positive for cocaine, DFPS reports show.
and unfortunately no court date in the article....
Excellent point & ITA! Thanks for catching that.if she paroled 6 months ago, how doe she have a 4 month old? someone needs to investigate staff at her prison about 14 months ago...
Thanks for checking! So Frankie's siblings are coming out of foster care and going to live with their father. I hope an actual trust account has been set up to guarantee they benefit from the donations.I talked to one of the employees at Bubba's-the money is going to the cost of helping to raise Frankie's siblings with their father.

I say this mainly because there are family members who have substance abuse issues (per msm) and the father could be pressured to "help" them out but if the money is earmarked for the siblings' care and education it's less likely. MOO.
