Thanks for searching for and posting these, Bohemian. Little Alexander Gorelik looks like a good match... just based on comparison of his sweet little face to the sweet little face in the sketch.

... On a side note... it's pretty sad how many avenues and possibilities there are for this child.

I think it was about 3 months until Baby Bella Bond was identified, and if the mother hadn't confessed that she was dead it would have taken longer.

In Bella's case there was one custodial parent and the other parent not in regular contact. The mom was effectively estranged from other relatives. Bella wasn't at school or pre-school. Having a non-custodial parent and even just a vague concept of distant relatives or people assuming it reasonable that Bella had been taken into care by DCF(?) meant a lack of people who knew Bella to call the hotlines.

I hope this little guy was old enough to go to school or nursery and that a red flag will go up somewhere, even if a parent claims he's staying home because he's sick or he's gone to stay with a relative.

The artist's reconstruction is amazing. There is a life-like quality to it, and a sort of pleading in those big beautiful eyes. His ears, in particular, look very distinctive, and the teeth look like they might be quite distinctive with the upper 2s appearing to have a slight sharpness in their shape?

I agree about the teeth and smile. I thought it looked very distinctive and would make him easy to recognize if we found a smiling picture.

More about the location our little guy may have gone into the water from WSer richieswan (thanks Richie!):

‘Unless rain from hurricanes flushed a large volume of water from the bays into the Gulf anything placed into the water on the shores or from the bridges around them would take months to exit through the channel. This is because the Gulf tides push most of the water back into the bays before it can exit. So a floating object tends to go down the river into the bays then back up again, etc, and takes ages to exit through the channel into the Gulf. The shape of the bays also creates circular flows so water flows in weird patterns. Unless the boy entered the water at the channel entrance itself, I would think he entered on the ocean side of Galveston but, if the hurricanes have still caused large runoffs that flushed water out of the bays, that’s a different story.’

The only thing I can immediately gather from the above is that our little guy was either placed into the water at the west side of the channel or further up or on the beach where he was found.

I am a complete novice when it comes to this sort of thing so if anyone has local knowledge of tides, sea currents and river flows, etc, or knows of anyone who does, that would be amazing.

My pleasure. Alexander does have a sweet face but he also has a cleft in his chin, unlike our little guy. Also, in hindsight, I think this little boy is too old:

The Weather Channel broadcasts have mentioned that water is still flowing out from the hurricane flooding upstream. I can't find it online right now; I'll try again in the morning when I have some working brain cells...

Note:

Dependent on the above information, the volume and speed of water exiting the bays through the channel,, tides and the direction of the current in the Gulf during the preceding 24-48 hours before his discovery, my best guess at the moment is that our little guy may have gone into the water anywhere between RA Apffel East Beach Park and 700 Seawall Blvd:

(btw At the end of the channel there is a long rock breakwater. Do people fish from here?)

Yes they do. Is this in the same area that Robert Durst victim and Riley Ann Sawyers was found?

Thanks for the info about the breakwater, ILTBP. Maybe Galveston PD may like to visit with the regulars and ask if they saw anything untoward in the days leading up to October 20.

Morris Black and Riley Ann Sawyers (‘Baby Grace’) were found in Galveston Bay, I think. Our little guy was found on the Gulf side near 700 Seawall Blvd, Galveston (between Stewart Beach and Porretto Beach).

Bohemian thanks for the helpful links.
Is this marker at the area the young man was found ?
Have you or anyone concluded that water flow was going out of the bay into the gulf ?

Yes, metic, where my arrow is. Probably closer to the ‘s’ in ‘Galveston’ truth be told but that’s only a matter of a few hundred metres west/south-west. He was found on the beach opposite or very close to the block where 700 Seawall Blvd, Galveston is (between Stewart and Portetto beaches) from original reports.

As for the river flow — there has been some run off from recent hurricanes from carbuff’s last post on this thread. I think the dark colour of the water (silt no doubt) on the map above is a pretty accurate marker for the direction of the river’s flow into the Gulf.

Thank you again for your help x

Gosh, I wonder if our little guy [and his family member(s)] were stowaways/smuggled/trafficked onboard a ship, container or otherwise, and he fell overboard? Surely not! Wouldn’t he then have been hit by the prop?

I would have thought so, Bo. Still a possibility though. I'm still holding out for some Rachelle Bond type to get caught up in lies.... negative, I know. I wonder if they will do an NCMEC reconstruction as well as the sketch.

Yeah me too, AP, unless it was anchored waiting to go into port. Sadly, it is a possibility. I am holding out for a loved one to claim him too but some of the research I’ve done on human smuggling/trafficking, along with the fact that the Feds are involved, doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence. I think Lyssa posted about a NCMEC reconstruction earlier. Lois’ sketch is beautiful though.

Quoted from article :

"Heading Southwest from Galveston to Surfside Beach, you will find some waves near Pirate’s Beach, Bermuda Beach, and Jamaica Beach.
After that there are miles of beach break towards the San Louis Pass, where the currents are extremely dangerous, and there are also sharks.
So it is advised to stay clear."
