I'm inclined to believe everything is quite accurate, since they said he wasn't badly decomposed. If those eyes and lashes are accurate somebody is definitely going to remember those! I hate to say it but he looks like another Baby Doe to me, with those big brown eyes. Baby Boy Doe.
However, let's look at his weight/height here for a minute. This is an area I'm extremely familiar with. I've had 3 kids who didn't gain/grow as they were supposed to.
My baby boy is 2 years and 3 months old. He is 25 pounds and 2 feet 8.5 inches tall. He is just BARELY hanging onto the growth charts. We are short people around here. All testing has been done. He's perfectly healthy just petite, a healthy eater, loves his ice water, very active little dude and with a metabolism we'd all love as adults!
IF the height of 3 feet tall and weight of 30 pounds is accurate this child is statistically likely to be 3-3.5 years old. I'd be shocked if he's older than that.
Unless, this boy is much smaller than average, like mine. Which would be memorable regardless of why. A medical practitioner may remember him due to that.
When height growth stalls they worry about growth hormone issues and bone age. When weight gain stalls they worry about adequate nutrition and whether it's being adequately absorbed and processed. They do blood work and x-rays to check these things. Or if the child had some sort of special needs that could also explain being a smaller size.
Just to give people an idea of how the size would be relative to the age, here are the stats:
A 3 year old boy (as in DOB 10-23-2014) would be about 10% in height and 25% in weight. This is a perfectly reasonable size without any intervention occurring.
A 3.5 year old boy (as in DOB 4-23-2014) would be about 5% for height and 25% for weight. Testing may start at this point depending on the child's growth curve prior to it. If they had always been about 5% it wouldn't be a concern. If they were dropping down then it'd be an issue.
A 4 year old boy (as in DOB 10-23-2013) would be off the charts short and about 10% in weight. There would definitely be testing done to ensure the child was not experiencing any health issues, to account for lack of height.
A 4.5 year old boy (as in DOB 4-23-2013) would be off the charts short and just barely clinging to the chart in weight.
A 5 year old boy (as in DOB 10-23-2013) would be off the charts in both areas and likely extremely unhealthy or with other health issues.
That is all of course presuming that this little boy ever even saw a doctor. The height and weight could be accurate because he was a starved 5 year old. I hope not though.
I think both Sean and Marcos are unlikely if their height and Baby Boy Doe's height is correct. That would be a HUGE height growth spurt for either of them.
(Though I also don't think Sean's stats are right anyway. He would be very very very short and very very very chubby at those stats. Completely off the charts both directions. He does not look that way to me though I've only seen the one picture. So maybe he is within the realm of possibility.)
I couldn't find a height and weight for Rodolfo. Those kids aren't listed in NCMEC.
Sorry for the novel. I hope this little boy with the big brown eyes has his name back soon.
