Still no cause of death, however they said they have ruled out drowning. Little Jacob was placed in the water locally, and they released an actual photo in hopes that it will help identify him. Narrowed age to between 3 and 4.

Thanks Lyssa x Do you have a link to the presser and one for the photo. If so, could you post it here please? TIA.

Geez. He looks too damned much like my grandson.

He does look a bit older in that photo. Three or four seems reasonable.

Oh this is even more heartbreaking now.
Look at those beautiful eyelashes. What a precious little boy. How could anyone do this??!

I hope someone comes forward. Someone knows this little boy.

Thanks Lyssav x

No COD, signs of abuse and neglect, half of the weight he should be. Tragic.

Oh hellfire. I just saw your post... This is was than it already was... is that possible?

I know. My heart broke when I saw ‘Little Jacob’s’ PM photo.

I think that when, and if, the mystery of this little one’s death (and life) is finally revealed, it will be even more tragic than it already is. Prepare yourself.

Is there a list somewhere of kids that have been ruled out?

Has anyone suggested Deklon Ford? https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/38742/

(Please someone submit if you think it's a possible match and hasn't been suggested already, thanks)

I can see they had to touch up the photo. It makes me wonder how accurate their depiction of his nose is.

I feel like LE is getting closer to finding out Little Jacob's true identity. The postmortem photo is just . . . well I have no words. I want to hold him in my arms and rock him back and forth while wailing with grief, pain, and anger.

They mention Baby Grace in the article and how much the clothing helped to identify her.

Investigators named that then-unidentified child as Baby Grace. Special Agent Rennison says, though, there was a key factor in Baby Grace’s case that significantly differentiates it from Little Jacob’s.

“She had certain items of clothing that were very identifiable. [That] was one of the major reasons the case got solved: because a relative of the little girl noticed the clothes,” he told Dateline. “She had actually bought that set of clothes for the girl and called in from somewhere up north.”

I always felt Little Bella's clothing and blanket helped secure her identity for the friends that eventually gave up R. Bond and M. McCarthy's names.

Also, the reward is different. No conviction needed. Just information leading to the people responsible for this precious child.

Unlike most traditional rewards, this not reward for information that leads to a conviction. This is a reward for information that leads to the identity of the little boy or his parents or caregivers,” he told Dateline. “So it’s a lower burden, if you will, on the reward money. We feel it’s that important if you have any information to bring forward to help find the identity of him, or his parents, or his caregivers.”
