Texas Shooting Leaves 5 Dead and At Least 21 Injured Near Odessa

“Inside, he said he saw a baby girl in a car seat whose face, shirt and lap were covered in blood. One of his co-workers, who is also a paramedic, checked on the child until on-duty paramedics arrived and said that she appeared to have been shot in the shoulder.

“She was conscious, but she was just covered in blood,” Mr. Bejarano said. “It was horrible to see something like that.””

I cried when I read that.
I hope and pray the poor baby recovers.

How to help the victims of the Midland-Odessa shooting
Here are a few ways to help the community or receive help yourself in the wake of Saturday's shooting.

Blood donations

• Vitalant West Texas has shipped out 54 units of O positive blood to help with the shooting, but blood is still needed for both the shooting and the impact of Hurricane Dorian. Platelets are particularly needed.
• Medical Center Hospital is reporting blood supply for them is okay as of Saturday night.
• The Midland Vitalant Center will be open on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for those wishing to donate (4706 N. Midkiff Road, No. 20, Midland, Texas, 79705).

Funeral services

• Perches Funeral Home will be offering free funeral services for the victims of shootings. For details, call 432-272-030.
• American Heritage Funeral Homes will also be offering free funerals. For more information, contact 432-563-9767.

Counseling services

• Healing Through Hope is offering services for those in need of support. They will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday and Monday for those who need to talk.

I’m already beginning my assessment above which is why I asked about the drugs but I’m too ticked off right now to talk.

Local Midland/Odessa TV is reporting that the Cinergy Theater is closed indefinitely because of the final shoot out there this afternoon. Interstate20, the frontage road along side it, and the Odessa Parkway Loop up to the intersection of 42nd ST( a main East-West street in North Odessa with the Music City Mall and Odessa Permian High School + hundreds of other businesses and churches on the street) are all blocked off until at least 4am this coming early morning. It is all a crime scene...... Miles and miles of crime scene are being worked......They also reported that LE engaging the shooter fired at least 40 shots into his vehicle at the theater..............moo

I’m wondering if this is in fact one shooter, and not the reported two.

There is always a great deal of confusion in these situations, and it usually winds up being a lone gunman.

Someone who is moving around and changing vehicles, could easily add to the confusion.

We’ll see.

Catching up. Yes, this is often the case, people think there are more than one shooter. I saw a reporter one time talk about all the reasons why. I transcribed it somewhere...There were even witnesses running out of the establishment saying there was more than one shooter but that reporter refused to say that and said he was waiting for LE. British reporter, iirc, did a fabulous job.
