We are so heartbroken to hear that our dear friend Leilah Hernandez, has passed away to be with our Lord Jesus. We still don't want to believe it. She was a victim in the tragic event that took place today in Odessa. We are grateful to have been a part of her life, and it hurts our hearts greatly that she is no longer with us on this earth. We had the privilege to have captured her & her families memories in her quince. She wasn't just a client, she was a good friend of ours. Such a sweet girl, with such a big heart. Beautiful inside and out. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. Joanna Leyva May you rest in peace Leilah. You will be missed.

With all of these random shootings in public places, perhaps there's a need for lightweight, stylish body armor designed for the consumer "soccer mom" market. Maybe Walmart can help get the ball rolling on a massive scale. That's the only way I can imagine that members of the general public will be even a little less likely to die in these situations. IMO

It's confusing to me how he was shooting while driving. I've never shot a gun, but doesn't a gun of the type he used take two hands?

Those with some experience, please chime in with how you think he managed this.

Call me a "conspiracy nut", but I think that there is more to this situation.

Lest this adds to any possible conspiracy theories, I wanted to mention something. I don't think we're supposed to cite mylife here, because it's often inaccurate, but there was a page there for the gunman. Since his name was released today, people have been editing the page, apparently trying to connect the gunman with whatever groups they hated (Jews, Hispanics, Native Americans, African Americans, Democrats, Republicans -- it kept changing) as well as adding weird or nonsensical things. People were also adding reviews whose goal was to connect the gunman to one of those groups. I called the company to complain.

It took a while to make myself understood -- the woman who answered was clearly in another country and hadn't heard about the shooting. (At one point she said I should tell the person whose bio it was to contact them. I explained that he had been shot dead by police.) Finally she consulted with her supervisor and removed the profile. I hope it stays gone -- there is no need to add insults (to others) to injury and death for too many. JMO

I’m actually surprised he hasn’t called me, his nickname for me is safety mom. He knows how I worry. He once joked that I got him safety cones and flame retardant clothes for his birthday.

I know how you feel. Our youngest daughter lives and works in the Virginia Beach area and when that shooting happened recently, I could not get in touch with her or her husband. I did not know about the mass shooting until later, so it was about 8pm when I started trying to phone them. She works for a company that has her at that facility sometimes and she could very well have been there. Fortunately she was not there and her hubby had taken her out for the evening. They are so cute, turning their phones off while on Date Night. Just, Please, Check The Phone once in a while.

Thank you for sharing this......I saw all that earlier while sleuthing him.......At that time Ator was a divorced Father of 9, Democrat Socialist and a Pagan Wicca worshiper..............I found all that a little hard to believe. Hopefully his true history will eventually surface.....moo

My son has been working in Odessa for the last two months. But thank goodness he was with me here in Dallas area yesterday.

Fwiw, the info posted here was apparently correct. Looks like he was from Lorena and attended high school there. He was most currently a resident local to the crimes.

I've never shot one while driving but to me it's much easier to handle than my 357. Lighter weight and not as much kick. I haven't shot one one handed but IMO it wouldn't be all that difficult.

neighbor says the man in this house had at least two guns, one rifle, one handgun, and would shoot randomly at night. She says one time he showed up to her door with his rifle, and she called police, but they couldn’t find this address on GPS. @newswest9 #khou #texasshooting

Not sure but if it was for buying a gun and he had no felonies on his record, it makes me think he had history of a mental diagnosis.
