TX - Hailey Dunn, 13, Colorado City, 27 Dec 2010 - #1

  • #361
There is also no evidance that she wasn't abducted, in fact at this point there is no evidance of anything. However, this child was last seen 13 blocks from her home (in the business district) along a major highway. She was to spend the night with a friend, but never showed up. She lives less than four blocks from the Colorado City Police Station. There is NO information on their website about Hailey or even how to go about reporting a missing child. Aside from some small articles in local papers the most news coverage has been via websites.

Help bring this child home. Dunn is a white female, 5'1' with hazel eyes and brown hair and pierced ears. She was last seen wearing navy blue sweat pants, a short sleeve light colored T-shirt and pink and white tennis shoes.

Am going to email the chief again about getting a banner up on their website about Hailey being missing - this is just not right.

Yes, that was Clint. Please understand that both Billie and Clint are devestated, and neither are acting themselves.

Billie and Clint both love Hailey and DD more than they are able to express. Anything odd that any of you noticed was probably due to a combination of heartache, loss of sleep, nerves, and a myriad of other things.

Also, Billie told me that while it was not a long interview, everything except for her making the plea for Hailey's return was cut.

Bless their hearts, I'm sure devestated doesn't even come close and the heartache would be unbearable. Hailey was the last thing I thought about before I went to sleep and the first thought in my head when I woke.

Constant prayers for Hailey and her family.

If Hailey is thought to have run away by C-City police then the question regarding runaways have to be asked:

1. Was she running from something or
2. Was she running to something

Have to go for a bit.

Good Luck! The website still lists names of the former chief, sgts. etc. as being in charge. I found no mention of Interim Chief Bivens or his lone officer at all.

Also, I think the info in the article is a mistake. (JMO) There have been no confirmed sightings reported as far as I can tell. There have been some " I think it might have been", nothing on tape or confirmed positive.

Are you telling me there are only 2 law enforcement officers in that city? I agree there has been no confirmed sightings that I know of.

I have just emailed another poster to the City and I am assured it is going on their website.

In answer to a couple of the questions raised:

Billie does not have internet at her house, so no computer use or live games there. And in anticipation of everyone's next question, Hailey could have gotten online anywhere.

D/T frustration at the inability of local LE to come up with anything at all, Billie met with the Snyder PD yesterday. They informed her that they have been "involved" in the investigation since day one. To what extent they have been involved, I don't know besides the fact that some areas of Snyder have been searched and Snyder PD has "brainstormed" with local LE.
There is also a Texas Ranger assigned to Snyder. Billie met him yesterday and is scheduled to talk more with him today. So the Rangers are involved in the search for Hailey now.

I'm only up to page 11, will continue to answer questions as I get to them.

If LE has confirmed sightings, they have withheld this information from Billie. Yesterday they pretty much said 'sorry, we have nothing'. There was a woman who said she thought she saw Hailey, the same friend that she was supposed to spend the night with, and a boy walking late in the evening Monday. It was in front of a store that she thinks she saw them, but not in the 'business district'. There is no way to prove whether this woman did or did not see Hailey.

Who is this person writing this info ? This information jives with info we were being told about prior to being taken out of posts. Not about her being seen but about the dogs , am I mistaken....??

They must be local and know the family,or knows someone from LE...... that is my take....

Hit redcat,

When you say emailing to the city - can you share the email address? I never got a response from the email sent to the chief but based on info TGI provided, the email probably just went into a dead account somewhere.

The issues I am having with everthing I have been following are these:
1) Haliey lived only a few blocks from I-20, a major interstate that runs clear from one side of Tx to the other. If she did meet up with someone, it wouldn't have been very hard to walk to 20 and jump in,( the motel that has been mentioned is right off of 20).
2) With the above stated, there has been little to no media coverage, and if she did try something like I've stated, its hard to spread the word to surrounding areas, without the media.
3) It is completly besides the point, at this point, if she left on her own accord or not, she is a 13 year old baby with no money, no phone, and very little coverage! I seriously doubt that is she did leave on her own that she wanted to be gone for this long.
I have been emailing every media outlet I can think of, but I feel everyone needs to do the same! Maybe we can shine some light on this sad story, obviously LE is taking too much time.

Some of the info is inaccurate, taken from CCPD's website which has not been updated to reflect the loss of most of the officers and the former chief. I don't think any of it is inside or new info, it might be someone who attended the vigil and looked up old info. At least they tried! MOO

re-posting this for those that have missed it!!!

ok guys i have seen a lot of people in here say they would like to get some coverage for haiely and i have a good way as to how we can get this going! First off most definetely contact nancy grace! You can email her at [email protected] i agree completely bomb her with emails.

Another way is through twitter. If you don't have a twitter account i urge you to get one! It's very easy to do and would take like two minutes to make one. www.twitter.com for those of you that don't know what it is.

I have found several news outlets by going through richelle carey's list of people that she follows. Those of you that know richelle know she works for hln! Bomb her @replies about haiely but make sure you use #findhaileydunn for the tag in your post so we can get it in the twitter trending search which means if we get her trending it will definitely get some recognition via the main stream media and it would also get other people that don't know about her on it as well. Here are other twitters that you could follow and do the same thing. I found several twitters for texas tv stations. Others are for hln and cnn.

I don't know this young girl but I just don't think a 13 year old would walk to I-20 and jump in the car with a stranger. Simply looking at her FB and forming MOO, this girl is not a "party girl" as none of her statuses or posts relayed that kind of information. I just don't think she would throw caution to the wind and jump in a car with anyone and just go anywhere. She post very loving things about her family. In other words...she's not hating the world and wanting to get away.
I wish that LE would throw us a bone and at least give their rationale for labeling this as a "runaway"....because right now we have Colorado City Texas and the rest of the United States to look...would be a tad bit easier if it could be narrowed down a bit!
