Do the dogs respond in a manner in which you can tell if the person was walking slowly or running?

That depends on a lot of factors, weather, the age of the trail, and so on, so there isn't a simple yes or no answer I'm afraid. In this case, given everything, I would lean towards no.

I'm afraid when it comes to info. on the dogs I am not going to rely on BD as a reliable source of information. For no other reason then I'm not sure she was getting her information from people who actually knew what they were talking about.

Now, if she says, "I watched the dogs start at my door and go down the street and then hook a right", that's different.

thank you, I was trying to determine if she saw something or somebody at the dad's that made her run towards her friends.

I think the behaviour of MB's mom is very strange to say the least. According to her statements she doesn't seem to care much about Hailey's disappearance. If one of my son's friends were missing I would be very concerned and worried.

As I thought about it today I noticed a few things. I have read that the bloodhounds traced Hailey towards her father's house and then turned around and traced her to MB's house. When was the last time Hailey went by MB's house? As it was christmas I guess she hadn't been at MB's for at least a couple of days because she was spending christmas at her father's house. How long can the bloodhounds trace old scents? A couple of days or more?

If she hadn't left the house at all the day she disappeared the last scent should lead from her father's house to her home (because she returned back home on the 26th after spending christmas at her father's). Therefore I think she indeed left her home on the 27th to go to her father, then maybe changed her mind (because she suddenly remembered that her father wasn't at home that day) and then went on to MB.

I don't know if this makes any sense at all. As English is not my mother tongue I hope you understand what I mean.

The posters here at WS most of us don't know the familes of the missing but we are always concern and looking for answers and doing what we can and it concern me when a local is not :furious:

were there any dumpsters located in the area of the hotel where they found her scent?

I don't know about the dads and friends house, but the tracking to the motel has been dispelled they said it wasn't tracked to the motel, but the dogs picked up a spot of scent there, if that makes sense, they smelled her, but it wasn't a trail.

This makes me wonder - perhaps someone who had been staying at that hotel, seen her out and about.... grabbed her - stuffed her in the trunk while they went to get their stuff out of the room and checkout. Ive read that bloodhounds can even pick up scent coming from the exhaust of a car. I would hope the FBI is very carefully checking each and every person who was staying at that hotel in the days leading up to her disappearance.

IDK IMO if that was my child best friend or even my grandson I would drop everything to be there to show support.

Kind of like when my dad told me I could not wear a halter top. I didn't stop wearing them just put a shirt on over them until I got out of his sight.

The day after Christmas, usually kids want to share or show what ever they got NEW
for presents.
My 8 yr old grand daughter wanted her BF to come see her new doll house and play with her.
So it would be natural for Hailey to go to her BF's to see Christmas gifts.
IMO, maybe she was there for a few minutes.........not over night, but there.

I'm 61 and when I was a teen I did the same.........dad said no bikini, but I had several.
wore it under my clothes and had a 1 piece that he saw in my beach bag........LOL

Supposedly she was seen talking on a cell phone in her back yard around 12:30 the day she dissapeared.

LE has the phone, I would lilke to know who she was talking to. Any reason they aren't making this public?

LE has not made anything public, they have not said if the phone witness was accurate or the other witness was credible.
