Hailey could have been there a couple of days before and the dogs would still have picked up her scent or someone else wearing an article of Hailey’s clothing would have the same results.

Amster, I'm a bit confused. I honestly don't see where anyone has called MB or her mom a liar. Do you have any quotes or links? Just trying to clear it up in my head - since I haven't been following that line of discussion. Thanks.

Also, it is possible for all of them to be telling the truth - and Hailey was really snatched off the street (or was convinced to change her plans after leaving home).

I'm beginning to think there are 'secrets' and people are fibbing because they do not want to be involved, do not want to get into their own trouble, know allot of things but do not want to hurt friends and family.
I am from a small town and mouths shut up to strangers and LE.
Here someone may know some very bad people but will keep quiet out of fear, or
they know a good family member and do not want to hurt them or gossip about them.
I am thinking LOTS of SECRETS!

Going back to the story that Hailey was headed to MB's house. IIRC, it had been reported that MB's house is about 4-5 blocks away, max. Below, I've circled a 4-5 block radius from where Hailey was last supposedly seen (given that we don't know MB's address or which way her house is).

ETA: gets awfully close to I-20. I wonder how close MB's house is to that hotel?

MB's house is between and 18th and 19th on Colorado.

teh, I could not agree more. And I mean no disrespect to the friends that are posting here. BJD is lucky to have them by her side.

Everything has two sides, and somewhere in the middle lies the truth. And the truth is what we need, so Hailey can come home.

I musta missed that. If BD, SA and CD are not involved in any way, of course they are going to be suspicious of MB and her mom. Who wouldn't? It's the place to start.

If I were Billie, knew nothing about Hailey's disappearance I would suspect everyone. I think I am right on the money with this assessment because she was suspicious of SA after the poly, she didn't blindly defend him and stand by him. I think she'll be looking sideways at everyone in her daughters life.

Back in post 26 or 27..it was said neighbors (more than one) said they saw Hailey on the cell phone.

Why did mom call her son to text a msg to Hailey when she knew Hailey was not at home?

TGI, what do you think of the theory that I posted a few pages back. That IF it's correct what Billie originally said - that the dogs started towards the dad's then turned around? IF - and IF - that's true, then to me that says that the trail they were following was a fresh one, since she obviously had been all the way to her dad's many times. KWIM? :waitasec:

ETA: I know there's alot of speculation about whether or not the dogs trailed Hailey vs were taken to various places (e.g. hotel). But I don't believe Billie is pulling this info out of thin air. Someone - from one of the many branches of LE involved - told her something to that effect. Same with the LD tests... MOO.

I believe that BO is telling what LE has told her. We don't know how accurate her info is because such critical mistakes have been made in this case.

I would find it strange if the dogs had not found a scent trail to the dad's house or the friends house. Hailey was out of school for the Holidays and walking was her mode of transportation. Dogs will follow the freshest scent, but they can't tell us if it was left on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. I don't know what to think about the dogs going halfway to dad's then turning back. Maybe her most recent scent did stop half-way. In that case I would be much more interested to know if SA's scent followed the same half-way path. Maybe she tried to run to Dad's house and someone stopped her half-way.

But see here is the thing......we don't know what all has transpired between these people. What if there were fingers being pointed at this "friend" because SA said she was going there? Was there maybe bad blood between them even before this? WE DON'T KNOW, there could be many reasons for the reactions of the friend and her mom......does not mean they had ANYTHING to do with this.

Yes, you are right. We don't know anything really. If I should have offended anyone with my statements then I'm sorry. It wasn't my intention to attack anyone. The lack of progress in this case is just so frustrating.

Absolutely agree. Anyone here follow the Amber Harris case? Carlie Brucia? Hailey could have headed to her fathers house, saw his car wasn't there or just changed her mind and went to MB's house. MB not home so from there she either may have headed back home or went somewhere to hang out and kill time and that is where she disappeared from. I'm not ready to consider anyone in this case liars yet.

I would really like to see K9 Search and Rescue of Texas be brought in. I would like to have them try starting trails from CD's house and BD's house. I would like to see at least 3 dog teams run these blind. I would also like to see 3 teams work the motel.
There's my wish for the day. (OK, I really wish she would be found safe and sound, but that's just a given.)

I want to know why MB's mom first said "she never spent the night there" & then changed it to she "spent the night there one time"..She had to remember it since she's told the story re: she found out they had left the house that "one" night & had been "roaming around the streets"..That's not something she'd forget & obviously she did not. :waitasec:

Is it possible that both girls were using each other as cover when they wanted to stay out all night and hang out with older friends?

Perhaps there was an issue once where MB's mother caught on that they weren't at HD's house when they were supposed to be and since she had never spoken to BD, she might not be aware of what her own daughter was up to that day either?

I'd also be interested in knowing if anyone was visiting or staying at MB's house the day Hailey went missing. And I mentioned it before, but everyone who lives in the area should try to remember if they saw anyone who might be visiting a neighbor, someone out of the ordinary (which is very possible since it was the holiday season).

I wish we knew for sure if Hailey was talking on the phone on Monday at all. If so, who was she talking to? Otherwise we really can't even confirm that she was seen at all on Monday. We have only SA's word. Billie didn't see her daughter after Sunday night and Clint claims the same.

What if the other witness wasn't credible? What if he didn't see her talking on the phone that day? This would mean Hailey could have actually vanished anytime between Christmas and the day her mom reported her missing.

Something is fishy here.

Did you see the witness? I got a gut feeling he was kinda odd & why was he reluctant to face the camera? He turned towards it (slightly) only a few xs but mostly kept his back to it..If he didn't want to be identified he could've given his interview without allowing them to show his face at all.

It's been speculated that mom was using a landline at work, while the son had the cell phone with the friend's number in it. Kids that age are text crazy - that's what they do all the time, much more than actually talking on the phone.

Mom works at a medical facility in Snyder, about 20-30 minutes away.
