Did they learn something about a boyfriend over 18, that is all I can guess that could cover both runaway and a crime...

Wondering how long those interviews went with the two girls that were walking with her and when exactly that was!

I know this morning that Newswest 9 reported that LE had been in contact with the 2 girls and this was on their morning broadcast about 8:00 IIRC. I posted it just as soon as I heard it.

That would tie in to my theory that if they think she's in a relationship with a boy older than 18, then he's in a whole heap of trouble and perhaps he's convincing HD to stay away to protect him?

MOO

And, he could possibly convince her that she is going to get in a HUGE amount of trouble not only by her parents, but LE too.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, a poster with the initials HC has posted something along the lines of "seeing Hailey at a squat in Kermit with two others on the 2nd" (paraphrase) in the comments of that mega post started by SL on the original "Find HD" page on Facebook. Is a link is allowed? TIA

I respect LE and am not throwing stones but I think there has been a lot of things gone wrong.. Being a small town and no experience in dealing with something like this LE did what they knew to do (look for a run a way) wait till she returns. Billie did not just want to wait and started looking for other help. Many on this boards gave her great resources and worked to get the story out there. Billie went on Nancy Grace. Billie did not put local LE down but NG being NG threw a lot out there. She stated how unprofessional and many other things about local LE. She mis-stated some things (NG not Billie) Local LE not being familiar with the way NG operates took offense. Someone makes you upset you do not work with open eyes.

I really do feel that the local LE are in over their heads due to the many different statements. We think she is hiding, a run away. We thing there is foul play, etc. The article about not knowing if she left, Sunday, Monday or Tues has to be wrong, Her Dad saw her on Sunday. A Neighbor saw her on Monday. I know that the Texas Rangers and others are helping but all the statements (correct me if I am wrong) are coming from local authorities.

And one other thing, why oh why not let professionals, who have volunteered, do the searching and not untrained local. I would have let Tim come in and look as long as he wanted which would free LE up to do other things.

Sorry if this has been answered but I was wondering if LE has searched SA's parents home/property. I don't know why it keeps bothering me, but it just seems logical that they would.

We have several different agencies, one with no poly experience or missing child experience. Someone tried to stir the pot by telling her...probably was not one of the pros, IMO. That's why the rangers can say "We would never..."; maybe "they" didn't. All MOO!

I don't know if the Rangers or FBI ever pulled rank on CCPD, or if they are letting CCPD do whatever while the Rangers pretend to be simply assisting. Meanwhile, every time one of them says "jump", Billie asks "how high"? She may or may not have flunked the poly...no one official is telling and whomever told her might have been guessing or lying.JMO

:highfive: Oh TGI hon, believe me, it ain't just YOUR opinion!

I've wondered if it wasn't even a case of semantics, as in "your boyfriend's poly indicated deception" instead of "Shawn flunked his poly". They don't have to outright tell you someone else "flunked" to get the message across loud and clear.

Unless there is an audio or video recording of Billie's interaction with the polygrapher, than I'm not sure how Trooper Dean or Kampfer knows for certain what she was told.

We don't know if the neighbor who said he saw her on Monday panned out, if not that could be why LE can't tell when she was last seen by anyone other than SA.

so this very morning it changed from Hailey's a runaway

to "Investigators are following leads of "possible criminal intent" in the disappearance of Hailey Dunn, Senior DPS Trooper Sparky Dean said this morning".

leads me to suspect they learned something interesting ( MAYBE ) after meeting with students.

Is it possible they are calling Hailey a runaway because they believe she has an older boyfriend in or outside of CC?
Criminal intent to hide an underage runaway? or possibility of statutory rape charges?
The messages they are sending out are really mixed.
What if she willingly ran off with an older boy/friend, but is still in danger? There's no way of knowing she is safe.
Bizarre.

Texas DPS Senior Trooper Sparky Dean confirmed he was requested to be on tonight's show as a guest. However, his office in Austin asked that he decline to be interviewed.
During the last episode that featured the Dunn case, Hailey's mother Billie Dunn told Grace she was questioned for 10-12 hours on Wednesday night after admittedly failing a polygraph test. Dunn said that her boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, also failed his polygraph test.
The day after the episode aired, law enforcement said the person who administered the polygraph tests did not reveal to anyone who passed or failed. The Nancy Grace show was expected to send a producer to the area this week in preparation for this week's coverage.

I am not one of those that can go back and find clips, but I saw an interview with the neighbor. He seemed to be sure he saw her and many of us were concerned as to why he watched her in the back yard.

IIRC, they did search around AS's grandmother's home in Dunn, Texas.

They videotape everything else, I don't know why they wouldn't tape a polygraph exam that LE so obviously puts so much credence in.

Wondering how much info they got from these two 6th graders. Hailey was in 8th grade.

8th graders tend to look at 6th graders as "newbs". I very well remember those years (they weren't too long ago) with my DD. In 6th grade all she talked about was the 8th graders and "how cool" they were. She didn't have any as friends-friends although she did talk to a few of the girls.

Then in 8th grade she was like "I'm not hanging around with any 6th graders - they're babies". But boy o boy did she like to brag to any 6th grade girl she could find that would listen.

Msteach - yousaid to teach middle school - am I not correct on this?

Maybe those girls told LE that Hailey went back to her house.

Who knows? But I'm leaning more towards friends today but I reserve the right to change my mind at any given time.

NG is just going to dig in on her opinions and now it going to turn into a is she helping or hurting thing.....which ain't gonna do H a bit of good.

Yep thats what she is saying LE has Billies phone and billie had to get a new phone with a different number . isn't that a crock of ...yeah

I don't understand why LE has her phone... all they need is the phone records and they don't need the phone for that ???
