Everytime I see "TIMER55" I can't help but get flashbacks of KC Anthony and her whole internet account "password" mystery...sorry, back on topic!!

Me and you both!

I remember hearing or reading how CD and SA got into an argument
I wonder if Clint maybe confronted SA about any of this?

I read this morning and was going to post on it....can't keep up:crazy:

I went back looking for that article and couldn't find that part.

But I really would like to know what the fight was about:waitasec:

I brought this over because it got me to thinking. HD told grandma this on Christmas and grandma didn't tell BD or CD right then, she never would have had the chance. HD went missing just 2 days later. I am NOT saying it was ok not to nip it in the butt right then. Since HD was staying with CD, maybe Grandma felt she would be safe until she could talk to BD in the next few days. Little did she know, that Christmas was likely her one and only chance to alert HD's parents. I believe she never should have left grandma's until it was looked into.

Also, SA was there with them that day. Grama says he looked at her but did not say anything to her. If HD did tell her Grama about her fears then SA might have overheard. He probably was creeping and lurking about. That may have added urgency to his sick twisted fantasy.

Here are the combined things that really make it hard for me to believe that BD was involved:
She notified LE
She asked for Texas Rangers to get involved
She asked for bloodhounds
She didn't let the runaway theory just stand (if she were involved, the more time that passes, the more likely the perp gets away with it)
She voluntarily takes the poly
She voluntarily turns over her phone
By all accounts she is cooperating fully
She hasn't lawyered up

SA on the other hand
Hasn't be forthcoming
His stories have incredible inconsistencies and outright lies
he deleted info from his phone before it was taken
His mother demanded the computer back, then it was taken into evidence (what does she know BTW)
He has unaccounted for time
He has not been cooperating fully
He has lawyered up

I do however believe that BD does feel responsible, as I said in an earlier post. I think if she could turn the back the hands of time, she would do it in a heart beat.

I would however, like to take a look of her photos- can anyone help?

My own 13 year old is currently without his iphone ( and will be for the next month) because he forwarded a vile and inappropriate poll to another person via text. He was told when given the phone to NEVER text or take photos of things he wouldn't be comfortable sharing with his grandmother. He also knew that I would be randomly checking. So....tomorrow he will be reading that poll to his grandmother. :floorlaugh: I have a feeling he won't be repeating that behavior;)

I am so glad my kids are grown:great:

Grandma needed to tell someone what Hailey was telling her. I want to ask her... So who did you tell about Haiely's fears.

In the recent B Smith case in VA, this is exactly what happened. An aunt called cps on moms bf for "inappropriate behavior- looks, touching". A few days later mom is dead and bf takes 13 yo to CA. You're right about not letting these statements go unnoticed and more importantly - discussed in person and possibly retaining custody of child until situation is resolved

O/T - 3 threads gone by since my last check! Wow.

But it appears that she told her Grandma this MORE than ONCE.

"She had told me on a couple of occasions that (...) he walked around at night and she said that she could see his shadow standing at her door," Connie Jones is quoted as saying. "She said, 'Nana, he scared me. I'm afraid he's going to come in there.'"

<modsnip>

These crimes do seem to be getting more violent, over all. I agree. Just looking over our thread list, makes me cringe.

Salem

I think we are much more aware of heinous crimes because of new and more accessible information technology and media saturation. They were always occurring, but they are occurring more and getting worse because these sickos feed off of each others' actions. JMO.

As far as the crimes getting worse, I think these nuts read about all the other crimes going on at the time and try t out do each other.

Right, and she doesn't mention that one of those times that she told her was on Christmas day, just that it's the last time she saw her. She doesn't specify when these conversations took place.

"Jones last saw the middle schooler on Christmas Day when Hailey tried to take a picture of her grandmother with her brand new ipod."

"It was a good day," Jones said. "She ate two pieces of chocolate pie and we sat and talked. She told me everything that she had gotten for Christmas."

"Jones saw Adkins that day too. She said he was quiet and said nothing to her."

Do we know if Billie was involved in this horror "thing" prior to hooking up with Shawn?

I don't know if she was involved prior, BUT she knew about his involvement from the start. It is not like she was in love with someone and he slowly became obsessed with serial killers.

and maybe SA (since he was around per Grandma) maybe overheard Hailey telling grandma - possibly through a cracked bedroom door as he was headed for a potty break?

the good news is they are getting caught by DNA evidence and digital trails they leave behind. (thanks to science and technology)
I believe these evil people and their twisted crimes always existed but now LE is catching them.

It does not say she told her on Christmas day, only that she had told her.

I agree. I posted on this earlier maybe to quick:waitasec:

Respectively that wasn't my point. I'm not disregarding the heinous nature of the crimes, just questioning why they seem to be getting worse. and why we are more aware of them as of late.

Sorry I misunderstood... :truce:

I do agree that we're more aware of them. Something I read a while ago talked about that and how children's free space to roam has shrunk exponentially over the years, in large part due to the news of such crimes. The question the author kept asking was has it really gotten worse or do we just hear about it more. I tend to think both: it's gotten worse because a population growth/density, parents working more, children alone more, etc., and we also hear about it more b/c of the technology we have now that no one had 50 years ago... Since this is CD's mother can we assume that she saw Hailey at his home on Christmas Day? Or did she actually visit the two grandchildren in BD's home? If that's the case and SA said nothing to her that's very weird and just another red flag IMO.
