I think they can figure it out by where their phones work and don't and comparing it to when SA's quit pinging. Did that make sense?

Sorry, but no, it didn't. Try explaining it to a fifth grader. TIA!

does anyone know if they trace a suspect's scent anywhere? For instance, the dogs traced Hailey's scent to a motel....what about SA? Does his scent go to the same motel? KWIM?

He wasn't a suspect at the time and they still really believed she was a runaway I think so I am gonna go with no, they did not. Can they? Yes.

BINGO!..
I've researched and the only way for it to suddenly quit pinging is for the phone to have died{battery died or was removed} or the SIM card was removed..

So, at 656 he removed battery or SIM card or coincidentally it "just died" at that moment.. and did not "work" again until 938 pinging in Big Spring at mom's..

I am thinking and this is just me thinking as I'm typing about this new way of looking at things.. That maybe just maybe it was not until SA arrived back home at 1804 Chestnut that he made the determination of what he was going to do to Hailey{possibly in his mind not able to pass up such an unbelievable open opportunity with Billie and David for certain not returning any time in the near future}..cuz think about it this was before 7am..He knew DD had gone to spend nite with friend at 9pm the nite before, he knew the kids were out of school, so most likely he determoined DD would not be getting up for any reason whatsoever at such an early morning hour, after most likely staying up most of the nite with his friend playing video games, etc..So, he knows most likely DD, a 16yr oldboy, enjoying Christmas vacation is gonna be sleeping til noon{SA lived with DD as well so he knew his sleeping/awaking habits, ya know}..That means no worry of DD coming home anytime in the very near future..

Then there's Billie..He knew the car arrangements for Billie to and from work for that day..He had the only working vehicle and would be picking Billie up that nite.so he didn;t have to worry about her possibly coming home unexpectedly either..

So, what if when he arrived there at home he realized it was the perfect opportunity that he could not pass up..

Therefor that is when we see the "break in usage"{IMO battery or SIM out}at 656am and SA puts battery or SIm back in the cell when he is safely at his alibi destination{i.e. moms in Big Spring}at 948am..

Wow, this may be beginning to somewhat fit together..just thinking as I'm typing..I'll have to think on this and see what holes I can poke through it, though before I start thinking anything for certain..

ITA. I don't usually wake up thinking about cases (soon after), but the morning after those affadavits became public (showing that huge gap of time), I woke up and said "What did you do with her Shawn???" First thought and words out of my mouth.

About the ping question... did he go out of coverage area, or did he take battery out?

My thought: only using common sense ... if he did find himself in a non-coverage area, was he miraculously able to stay in a non-coverage area, all the way from CC to Big Spring? On I20 no less? Aren't interstates more "covered"? This man, this "innocent" man as he claims, really must have such rotten luck, that a normal trip from CC to Big Springs kept him out of touch. Really? For all of 2 hours and 40 minutes?

Didn't even poke a toe into an area that had coverage that WHOLE time?
Common sense says he took his battery (or whatever) out.

Sorry, I missed it. What military grade things?

Oh sorry - he was just saying that since a lot of what he works with as far as communication things are military grade/possibly higher tech, that it may not work the same. So, he may be wrong that a phone battery simply dying can stop pings.

There is no 911 call placed in this case?
Is that accurate?
I remember it sticking out to me that BD went to the police station to report her missing? Has that changed?

BD called DD at what number?
He texted HD at what number?
Who responded?
What did it say exactly?

DD relayed the info to BD, who then____________?
Called the mother of the friend?
Called DD to get that number?
Called Clint?
Called Shawn?
Called HDs friends?

How far away is the police station from work?
She drove from the hospital twenty miles to the police station by home?
She went to closest one?

She had her car this day?
Or someone drove her?

I have a feeling something happened to HD the night before she was reported missing. After DD left the house. And clean up is the next day while she is at work.

My thirteen year old is not in my house.
Someone knows where she is.

From what I understand, it's really hard to say whether any particular phone would still ping when it is off. So his phone could have not pinged because it was off, in addition to the possibilities of him being out of a coverage area or the battery going dead.

I am sure you're not a fifth grader but I am a third grader at explaining things. If SA was travelling with his phone and it should ping at the next tower bc everyone has coverage then I think they can assume SA had no phone coverage bc no battery. I guess it could mean it was dead battery. When he was at the house it hit on a particular tower. If they checked the next towers in all directions and found no pings, I think they may assume he disabled his phone. I hope that is not as clear as mud.

A list of things communicated by or through Billie on Nancy Grace that I'm flushing down the toilet because they have been dismissed or are not confirmed:

1. Hailey was last seen by someone other than SA (neighbor) around noon on Monday, 12/27. CANNOT BE CONFIRMED.

2. Hailey was seen with 2 girls (or 1 boy and 1 girl) on the afternoon or evening of 12/27. CANNOT BE CONFIRMED.

3. Hailey was last seen by someone other than SA (Billie) around 6:30 a.m. on Monday 12/27. NOT CONFIRMED - BD NOT SURE.

4. Hailey was alive when SA came home from work at either 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. on Monday 12/27. NOT TRUE - SA WAS NOT AT WORK ON 12/27.

5. Bloodhounds followed trail towards CD's house, then to MB's and later hit at a motel - corroborating SA's story of Hailey's last words. NOT TRUE - STATEMENT MADE BY CITY MANAGER IS THAT BLOODHOUND HITS WERE INACCURATE AND COULD BE EXPLAINED BY ANY NUMBER OF THINGS.

6. SA had a blow up at work and was fired or quit in the early a.m. of Monday, 12/27.
NOT TRUE: EMPLOYER CONFIRMED HE LEFT VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT INCIDENT OR EXPLANATION.

7. SA went straight to his mother's house in the early a.m. on Monday 12/27, after walking off the job. NOT TRUE: CELL PHONE PINGS PUT HIM BACK IN COLORADO CITY AFTER LEAVING WORK.

8. SA would never hurt "that little girl". NOT TRUE: LE HAS DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE RECORD OF THREAT AGAINST HAILEY BY SA IN FEB 2010.

9. Hailey went missing on 12/27. NOT CONFIRMED: NO ONE BUT PRIME SUSPECT CLAIMS TO HAVE SEEN HER SINCE 12/26 P.M. (DD and BD)

Just to satisfy my curiosity, do they often?
Not nearly as often as I'd like. Some places, yes, sadly though this is a product of crime in the community I think. Low crime areas, LE just doesn't think of these things. KWIM?

I like your thoughts....adding these to your list....if I may...

How did B know...H was NOT at home....from her sleepover...??
Had B called the house to see if H was there...No answer??..THEN call DD to tell him to tell H to come home??/
Or did B KNOW...and used DD to make "the call"?so she could then report her missing..

Why did B have the son call??

When BD asked DD to call and get Hailey home, DD claims he sent her a text-- to what phone did he send the text? :waitasec:

Is it possible that not all of the phone info was release with the affidavits? Could it have been SA's phone pinged up in or near the area where the landfill is located?

Also I am curious how the bills were paid in the household? If you listen to how BD talks, it sounds as if they do not have a lot of extra money hence no internet and pre-paid cell, while SA has a Blackberry. Did he help with the expenses since he lived there or just blow his money however he wanted?

Also if SA has a Blackberry, wouldn't he have access to the internet through his phone?

Gah.....this case is so darn confusing.....

Sometimes it almost sounds as though Billie wanted her son to be the one to call MB's, to find out she had never been there...

I am still worried about the dogs tracking Hailey to MB's house. Do we know that for a fact or is it something that BD told us?

IMHO...That is still a bit strange....

Just suppose that..... there was a "Visitor" that was alone at the house.

Maybe this visitor liked teenage girls and he put Hailey in his car and then took her to the Hotel. At the hotel he had to check out and then he left town with Hailey. That COULD HAVE BEEN the reason that the mom would not let the daughter go to the Candlelight service for Hailey....

Again this is way off the wall...JUST A THOUGHT.....but we are at the end of our rope here and it seems like we are discussing the same old stuff over and over.

I sure wish the LE's would release some new info.

DEAR GOD ....PLEASE BRING HAILEY HOME TO THE PEOPLE THAT LOVE HER!

Am I correct in this statement...??

To text..or..receive a text...both phones must have texting capabilities...which are a part of the contract..and have costs incurred for texting priviledges.

So my question is.....could B's phone have texting??...in other words, could someone text from B's phone???....or solely talk from..

Another question is....Whose phone did DD use to text message from???
His OWN phone???.....B's phone.....or his friend's phone ???

One more question...WHERE was DD when B called him to text his sister???
These questions...and more....are so vital....
thanks...and correct me if I was wrong about texting...

Just to further add to the confusion, you can get a blackberry on a pre-paid. It also could be supplied through work.

Me too, me too. Remember, they didn't even release what we do know. That was obtained by media under FOIA. But that's probably not unusual.

I believe we are not priviledged to ALL the information put out there....LE/documents, etc....just my opinion...

LE has to build a case...
