I don't believe that LE out and out lies but they have been known to twist a few facts to get what they want. JMO

Now, I have heard about LE lying to suspects in interrogations "we have proof you did it" when they really didn't.

But I can't remember a single case where LE told MSM outright lies, and then cleared them up after a suspect was arrested.

I am sure there are stories about LE telling lies to cover up their own "mis-doings" for want of a better word, but during investigations? Just to throw off suspects? In sworn affidavits submitted to Judge's so they can get search warrants? Wouldn't that be perjury???

Please, please, please correct me if I am wrong!!!

They can't twist facts when statements are taped or video taped...or when domestic violence incidents would be backed up by incident reports taken at the time. Nevermind that fact that local, state and federal authorities are involved in this matter....what would LE have to gain by lying.....knowing that anything they might gain by that lie could later be challenged in a court setting.

That makes no sense at all.

I read that they do lie to the media at times in order to help their case. I know I've read that in at least one book by Ann Rule. Hold on and I'll go see if I can find an instance.

I don't that it's a common method of operation, though.

I don't have access to juvenile records.LOL

I understand. Everyone keeps saying BD had custody so Clint couldn't do anything. I thought someone must have records of them going to court. Otherwise, since they are still married, he could have stepped in at any time.

If LE lies in a search warrant, they definitely would run the risk of having an entire case getting thrown out of court.

Why would they risk this after spending hours and hours on an investigation to find the perp only to have them roam free again?

IMO

There is a HUGE difference in lying to the media and lying in a sworn affidavit before a judge.

They can out and out lie in order to further an investigation. For example, by telling one suspect that another has rolled on them in order to get a confession. However, I don't believe they would out and out lie in a press conference, just maybe twist a few words to serve their purpose.

I have huge respect for LE and appreciate all they do!

I would like to know more about Hailey. At this point I don't feel we know very much. What is this child's hearts desire? Where did she dream of going? What did she dream of seeing? Did she talk about seeing a certain concert? What was on Hailey's agenda of things to see and do when she had the opportunity?
Did this child go to the hairdressers, go get her nails done, go to the movies, go to a mall and shop? Was she having the kind of fun most 13 year old girls are having? What was going on in her life besides going over Dads and walking around the neighborhood?

Lying to the media and lying in a sworn statement..apples and oranges. One is perfectly legal, the other is not.

Shoot yeah, they can say what they want, especially if they have said people have lied to them and are changing thier stories. The purpose is to find a missing child and what happened to cause it,but not in sworn affidavits.

I seen it in Chris Coleman's case here in Illinois.

not in sworn affadavits.

Except a sworn affadavit is someone's testimony. Yet everyone believes that there was a NYE's party because SA said there was. Both BD and CD said that there was just family there. It is a sworn affadavit but it doesn't mean everything in it is true. SA said in his affadavit that Hailey was promiscuious. Which I believe to be a lie. Since it was in the sworn affadavit does that make it true?

While I'm not convinced of the sighting...since LE said they couldn't even be sure which day, or when she was last seen a while back, it doesn't really rule SA out, does it? I mean, what if he did see her at 3pm in the house, got into with Hailey, harmed her, stashed her in the shed and then here comes older brother. He had the whole next day to move Hailey, right?

Whether he is guilty or not, clearly LE has suspicions about him, they have no qualms about naming him, and I doubt he is playing along with LE in order for them to catch someone else.

I only know what we've heard in the media, now I'll check various outlets to get some full stories. But I could care less about BD or CD's issues,or them, actually, but SA has shown where he's out in those videos.

I think she meant the person didn't just tell LE, but they told others as well.

Actually, I meant that they had not just now told LE. But you are correct also, they told others as well.

I believe the truth of the matter and what was sworn to was Shawn did indeed say it. True or not, he said it.
