I would think because MB's parents weren't aware of Hailey going over there for a sleepover. However, on the other end, Hailey's mother was told Hailey was going over to MB for a sleepover.

BBM

But according to the mom last night on NG, she didn't know until after she got home from work. If Hailey and her mom got along so well like everyone claims, and Hailey had the mom's cell phone at home, it seems like she would have called her mom herself. The way the mom said she was disappointed that Hailey didn't call later that night made me think they kept in close contact.

MB's parents should know if she was home or out in the evening where she could have been seen by a woman, after dark...

Also, I really, really hope LE has already done all of the things mentioned here, searching the house, the cars, etc...it is more than a week now. With the TR there to help, they should be doing all of this, but it should have been done probably a few days ago at the latest. I do understand why every teen gone overnight can't put LE into high gear, I guess, but in such a small town, I wonder if LE was really that busy that they could not have started sooner, or just so used to things being safe, that they figured she would be home soon.

What a messed up family Hailey came from. I'm sorry but I don't believe in 'living together' before marriage. Guess I am old school. I mean, if you do that, what moral base do you come from to teach your children. And I must also say that CCPD did their ever loving best with what they had. I can only imagine how casual or frantic the missing child report was submitted. I cannot help but think that if it were not for Websleuiths and the very first person who posted her missing on this site that this case would have evaporated into oh wellness. Now we have a whole community shocked into reality. That for me is a good thing.
Now let's find this girl and forgive the innocents who erred along the way.

I am not going to debate 'living in sin' with you. It didn't work out between Billie and Clint, but at least they love their kids enough to live as close together as possible and remain on civil terms for the kid's sakes.

The report was frantic.

As I stated before, I hit the jackpot by finding Websleuths, and have had such an outpouring of support to get the media involved that I can never express my thanks enough. But Billie is one of my best friends, like a sister, and if I hadn't found this, I would have found something. Maybe that wasn't as much help.

It took a huge effort to get the media involved, and I know that without everyone here spending I can't imagine how much time tweeting and e-mailing, it wouldn't have gone as far as it has.

But I spent 3 days e-mailing and calling every radio and TV station that I could find contact info for - and had some success. Many other people who live here were also trying to get media involved also. I would still be at it if the story wasn't now national. That was the only contribution I could make besides being there for Billie.

Did it ever cross your mind that perhaps it was the runaway label that kept everyone but the local media disinterested?

I take great offense that you would dare imply that the people who love Billie and Hailey would have just let this go.

When was the last time Billie saw or talked to Hailey? Phone records will show if Hailey had a 30 min. conversation with anyone that Mon. That will help the timeline....if it happened.

I can't respond in detail on WS regarding my thoughts because the mother is the "victim", however they can be heard on YouTube.

They cannot open a full investigation for every teen that is four hours late getting home. If they they did there would be no resources left for any other emergency.

The horrible fact is no one knew she was missing until the following afternoon. If she didn't leave on her own the most likely reality is the end of this story had already been determined long before LE was even notified.

I do agree with your statement that I bolded but Hailey had been missing approx 12 hours when the initial report was made, a child never made it to her destination according to the parents, she had never spoke of running away nor had she ever attempted to run away, she took no belongings with her except the clothes on her back. Then when the hours turned into days and the days turned into a week and this teen that took nothing with her has still not shown up but the media and Texas Rangers did, it is finally reclassified as a missing person.

The part I emphasized in Red, I don't understand what you mean to say.

It is good locall LE knew they were in over their heads and brought in Texas Rangers.Smart move.

Billie called the Rangers herself. I looked the number up for her.

Perhaps Clint was so mad because they said the bloodhounds were immediately brought in. Those of you who recall my original post may remember that they were not brought in until new year's eve.

I'm so glad you said that...I didn't want to mention it...but since you did, yes...I nearly passed out when I heard them saying that!

Was Hailey in the habit of deciding what and when she would do something without consulting mom or dad? Instead of, "I'm going over to my dads and then spend the night with a friend...let mom know", was it ever, call mom and ask permission to spend the night with a friend?

I refuse to judge parents today on their ways of parenting. Just as 50 years ago, each family is different. I agree, todays parents with more than half being part of split marriages and usually both working to be able to support their ways of living, parents today really do allow the kids to advise them of what is going on and seem to be more laxed. Yes, I have raised two adult daughters and I will tell you that in my home, them 'telling me' what was going on just would not fly! I demanded the respect I deserved!

First off, Thank you for all of the hard work you have put into finding this precious girl!!!

I was wondering if there was any way you could clear up one thing.
When was the last time Billie or the brother saw or spoke with Hailey. I know she spent the night with her dad on Christmas, but I was wondering when she last saw or spoke directly with her mom or brother?

Thank you again for all of your work, I'm sure her family and all of her friends a very greatful for all that you have done, as we all are!

Billie called the Rangers... the principle organized the search... what next?

Do we have a confirmed date as to when the bloodhounds were brought it? Was it New Years Eve? If so, that certainly was not immediately. Would that impact their ability to track?

I would love to know what type of person the boyfriend is? Do you know him well enough to comment?

...(snipped)... Also, the fact that the mom is asiking a 16 year old to do the parenting by calling for her to come home, is suspect and indicative of strain in the relationship and maybe a noncompliance with the mothers demands....(snipped)...

Honestly, the mom asking the son to contact Hailey doesn't seem so odd to me. I imagine she was on the phone with her son - while at work - and added 'hey, why don't you call Hailey and tell her to come home?'. Maybe something came up at work and she needed to go. She was also using a landline at work b/c she left the cell phone at home for the her kids to use. Maybe someone else needed to use the phone or maybe it's the only line at work and employees are urged to keep their calls to a minimum.

We really don't know why she had him call, but I don't think it reflects on her parenting at all. I think it was a matter-of-fact kinda thing. JMHO... :)

I don't think the girlfriend MB is holding back any info. Hailey has been gone too long and her friend has to be very worried. Plus I don't think a 13 year old girl could lie through an interview with a Texas Ranger! I'd be scared sh..less and would say Yes sir , No sir etc. No way would a girl keep a lie this long. I keep going back to the BF. Altercation at work, lost his job, wouldn't expect him to be in a good mood. And, most bad things that happen to kids occur in their homes. Stranger abductions occur but aren't as common as we think. So, BF needs to take a poly. Mark Klass is a class act....what he says always makes sense. Those closest to Hailey need polygraphs. LE needs to know if Hailey left home on her own accord. All we have is BF's word.

I am praying for Hailey and her family. I am so impressed with the way her Mother,Father, friends and community have worked together to try and find this precious child. I pray that she will be found safe and soon.

PS--Mom and Dad are not involved in the least. I feel so sorry for both of them. Dad looks like a rubber band ready to snap. Their despair was palpable. I'm here in Iowa praying like crazy but this situation doesn't look good. I do think LE blew--- this child didn't run away!!! Right now I would be delighted if she did!!!

Not sure if the mods have had a chance to let you guys know that AJK is another verified local in this case.

Also, while we're discussing, remember that this is a small town where everyone would probably feel safer than in a big city. Coming from a small town, I see kids Hailey's age and younger walking around all the time. Because of WS, it scares me. Before WS, I thought we were too safe for something like this to happen. I no longer believe that. I think the Lindsey Baum case was when that finally sunk in. I am just so thankful my sons are adults now because they used to have freedom that I wouldn't give them at this point if they were still kids.

This world needs a shaking up. I hope each of us reaches out to our communities to demand a shaking!
