Hi Everyone... I read all of thread 1 and 3, and a few pages of thread 2 but I am very up to date on everything from local media, NG, posters, etc. (just now got approved to post anything !!)) This forum is amazing !

The main thing I would like to know are why it seems to have taken 5+ days to get some of the investigation done. Cell Phone checkouts, phone record requests, hounddogs, and many of these things.... Hailey's mom has said they are hoping to hear answers from them just now. - Wouldn't much of this stuff be done after 36-48 hrs much faster after they had checked all the initial "hiding spots" she could have been as a runaway ?

I'm not throwing LE under the bus completely. They may have done many things early on and just did not release it to anyone.

WELCOME, closingtime12...! Thanks for posting. You bring up some good questions - and at this point, I don't think anyone has any solid answers to them. Only speculation.

I've wondered about Hailey's friend's story but my suspicion has always been on the boyfriend just because he was the last one to see her and his story just at the time it didn't add up. After watching Nancy Grace tonight and hearing that the boyfriend is being polyed tomorrow and the things that Hailey's mom was saying about the friend I'm back at square one. My suspicion is back on the friend and I agree 110% with Susan Moss that they need hone in on that area. Something is NOT adding up there.

I know that the boyfriend seems hinky and everything and I totally get why people might suspect him but I just don't know. Giving the facts we have there are more hinky things with the friends story than the boyfriends. The only thing that was off about the boyfriends story is the working situation and that was it.

This case started over with the story of Hailey staying overnight at the friends house. Family of Hailey have that she'd never act out and that she was good in school etc. Why would this girl who everyone is saying is a good kid lie about where she was going? This is why I think something is hinky with MB the friend of Hailey. She claims Hailey never showed up there yet Hailey's scent was on HER doorstep! This is credible we KNOW that this is credible that her scent was led to the friends house.

Now we have in my opinion a credible siting by someone who KNOWS Hailey and KNOWS Hailey's friend MB that saw them on Monday evening up on that road. All three Hailey, MB, and MBs boyfriend were seen by someone who knows them personally. This isn't someone who just came upon the case and is thinking they saw them this someone who knows them personally! JMO but that speaks volume.

I think they need to search the friends house or something because something is not right. Why not take the greyhound dogs and get the scent of the friend and the friends boyfriend to see if their scent leads to that motel? Has MB's boyfriend been checked into and how old is MB's boyfriend? Where were they going that night that they were out that late? Did something happen to Hailey like she went missing or something when she was with them and the kids freaked out? Something is NOT right with that friend.

Why would Hailey's mother ask her son to text Hailey to come home.l. Why wouldn't she make a phone call herself. I am bewildered. As a mother myself, I don't get it. She is a 13 year old for gosh sakes.

Getting phone records takes time and there are steps that must be followed to get these records.

Why would you ask your son to text your 13 year old daughters friend to tell her to come home. Why would you not call her yourself for gosh sakes.

The son may have saved/known the friend's phone number and the mom didn't or didn't have it with her.

I haven't read every post and may have missed something, but on NG the mom said Hailey didn't have a cell of her own? Maybe one wasn't available at the time? I'm just thinking out loud, but from what I've seen of what Billie has said on NG, she didn't realize anything serious had happened for quite some time.

I don't get the big deal about having the brother text his sister. He's 16 not 10.

She's a nurse that works 12 hour shifts, from what has been posted. I am guessing she had her own phone number memorized, instead of Hailey's friend's phone number (which was probably saved in the cell phone). As someone who was probably busy at work, the easiest thing to do would be to call her son, who had her cell phone. I find it completely understandable tbh.

About mom asking son to text her. Mom had said on NG last night that she would leave her cell phone at home while she was at work so the kids had it - mom could use the land line at work if she needed to and call them. If mom was using a land line then she couldn't text anyone and therefore asked the son to do it. That's the way I heard it FWIW.

Simple:

Mom was at work....called home to HER cellphone, which she had left for the children to use. She doesn't have MB's number at her office.....but it is located in the cell phone that is there with her son.

people with no landline, especially young people, text everything. I don't find it odd, that the mother asked the son to do it. He may have been using the phone at the time. Maybe because I'm getting old, but everybody looks so young. the mom, the dad, the bf...

Don't even hint about it again and I mean it. I already saw one of your mods mention this is not allowed and I just unapproved a post about it. Knock it off.
