Search parties under Klaas Kids and the Laura Recovery Center have gone well, but Mark Klaas said unity needs to be achieved. "Obviously the goal is to bring Hailey home but everybody is working in isolation from everybody else," Klaas said.

Colorado City Manager Pete Kampfer said the number of people from outside agencies working on the case has lessened. He estimates about 10 people per day working on the case, down from 30 a week ago. "It's disappointing. I wish they'd call more people in to see what's going on, but I guess they're giving up," Dunn said.

Kampfer insists they're not giving up and that their investigation will continue even if numbers are lower.

CLINT DUNN, DAD OF MISSING TEEN CHEERLEADER HAILEY B. DUNN: Yes, ma`am.

GRACE: Where was he the day that Hailey goes missing? Was he at home?

C. DUNN: He`s been at his friend`s house. And then came home --

B. DUNN: He was home later.

C. DUNN: Came home later that day.

GRACE: And is his name D? Is that who you`re talking about?

C. DUNN: Yes.

GRACE: OK. When D called you or came over to ask about Hailey, what exactly did he say?

C. DUNN: He just asked me if I had seen her, that she was supposed to come over to my house and then she was supposed to go to M B, and that everybody was starting to get worried about her. And that`s when we started getting the police and started realizing that she was missing.

This is why so many of us are unsure of where David was. You read this one way, and think he's talking about the day Hailey went missing - Monday - then you read it again and you start thinking he's talking about the next day - Tuesday.

Add to that the statements about Hailey coming and going as she pleased, and D being "in and out" of the house, and it's no wonder that, just as nobody knew where Hailey was after 9pm Sunday - we also can't figure out where the heck D was!

So I looked up evictions laws to put a little more fact into the case. Turns out CD ay have been in one of three positions with his eviction.
1. unlawful eviction
2. the eviction was already on going and the move out date was already set.
3. They maybe werent so much evicted as they didnt wait for the notice they knew was coming to come but knew her section 8 was revoked (already 2 months ago) So they moved before the homeowner could file the paperwork.

Texas eviction laws.

Section 8 information . Section 8 CANNOT evict you . That is done by the homeowner or rental office. Section 8 can only revoke your section 8 voucher, which means they will stop paying the rent or the part of rent they have to pay. Either way it is done with letters and hearing and appeals.

Maybe I've missed something, but the teen brother went in the window on the day Haylie went missing and saw SA in the hall. They started looking for Haylie the next day. Unless BD actually believes that Haylie was snatched off the street (and I don't think she does according to the message not to call her phone), her theory that SA had nothing to do with it is literally making Haylie out to be a liar.

Here's the linkage.........

Donna Byerley met Hailey her through Byerley’s boyfriend, who had once dated a relative of Billie Jean Dunn. She described the girl’s home life as “volatile at times.”

Byerley characterized the 13-year-old as not getting along with her mother’s boyfriend, and Hailey herself as always wandering “here and there,” coming and going largely “as she pleases.”

Oh bless! I am fortunate enough to be a SAHM, and am suprised at the teens left to go here and there (forget about doing homework). I admit, I keep a tight leash on my son, and he knows he always has to check in with me (even when he rides to school on his bike).

I was a working mom until 2008, I know how hard it is to try to parent and work full time. But looking at these cases I'm glad I gave it up to keep an eye on my ever growing teen.

IMHO, I don't believe BD could be as involved in her daughter's life if she worked all day AND took part in drugs all the while trying to keep a volitile relationship together. I'm not bashing working moms, as I've been there.

BD certainly could have been totally out of the loop in regards to what her daughter was feeling in regards to SA. Perhaps they didn't have a close enough bond for HD to feel comfortable talking about it :( It all makes me sad for Hailey - she deserves so much better.

MOO

Is MK still there? I can't think she would have done this, if he is.

And, possibly, another 'message' to Shawn since he is not talking to her right now?

"Honey...I support you and believe in you. Come home when this is all done. It will be just the two of us...and it will be AWESOME!"

JMO, as always...
As opposed to, "Honey, if you can hear me...it's okay. Come home! We love you, we want you home. We'll work everything out, just come home! Everyone wants you home, Hailey, everyone loves you, Hailey! And if someone is holding my daughter, we love her and need her home. Please send her back home to us!"

To answer your question before I post, it just screamed of sensationalism to me...and up until then I thought of her as a dignified attorney. Yikes...

Anyway, I was just thinking of another unfortunate thing this case with Hailey has in common with Kyron; whoever took Kyron seemed to either take a chance that his absence would not be noticed for a while, or knew that it wouldn't; and in this case, how could SA be so sure Billie would not call to talk to Hailey at her friend's house? That is really bugging me, not just that she didn't, but if he is guilty, he took a really big chance or else knew she wouldn't. Especially if he said it as casually as Billie indicated, you know, SA said she was going to her dad's and then to MB's to sleep over. If Hailey had never slept over there before, why wouldn't Billie call?

I used to wonder the same thing---how could SA know that BD wouldn't call to check up on Hailey. Then I read here that he never actually told her about the message until AFTER they got home that night. It was discussed quite a bit here.
So if he waited to tell her until after they did their drug buy, and then they came home together, probably high, she was probably just relieved.
He also knew her patterns and it has been said by others that she was very lax about checking up on the kids as a general rule.

ITA. When I read it I took it to mean Tue when DD came home from spending the night with a friend. But I wouldnt be surprised if he didnt spend both nights with a friend. It is confusing and both days may be right.IDK

From CD:

Dunn said conversations with Hailey's mother Billie are also less frequent. "We're in the same book, but not in the same page. We're not keeping a lot of contact, especially since the affidavits came out."

Makes me wonder why. Does he suspect BD? Is he also tired of her protecting SA?

Like I said the other night, when all is said and done, I am sure CD will have a lot to say. Right now, his main focus is his daughter and his daughter only.
