I don't have much faith in lie detectors so it wouldn't make an iota of difference to me. I am my own lie detector.

Regardless who is at fault & who may or may not be telling the truth - this should be about Hailey - a young girl that has the rest of her life in front of her & just basically beginning her life - I pray for her safe return & that God keeps her safe -I have a 12 year old grand-daughter & can't imagine something like this happening to her & pray to God I never have to - but - I would let the LE & all others involved do their job & help me bring her home safe. Hailey - we love you - (have never met you) - but you are loved & missed by alot of people! When everyone goes & bed, please say a prayer for her safe return.

I do not believe that Billie was at home when DD was pounding on the door. She questioned him about what had happened, and I did too. I believe that she just repeated what DD told her to LE. I know that 'confirmed' would make it look like she was there, but IMO, it was just poor wording in the affidavit.

Yes, many people here thought that..and probably still think I am crazy..and if CD's hadn't been worded one way and BD's another I would agree. As it is though, I believe it was written differently because one was told it as they saw it and one was repeating what they had been told. I wonder how why Billie would confirm it to LE and then question DD about it after the fact? I'm just not sure how she could confirm if she still had questions...hmmm..TY so much for answering the best you can though! This is probably one of my most troubling 'issues'...

Yes! I only read those few and I'm ready to cry.
I can't read any more about rape and torture, axes, knives, swords, recording screams..........now the occult......
I am going to sew doll clothes to get this out of my mind.
All Steelers outfits, I hope!:woohoo:

It's mighty brave of you, passion, to delve in where some of us fear to tread. Just your descriptions let me know that I have no business (being the fraidy cat I am) reading about any of those crimes!

I think that is one thing everyone on this board agrees on. I really hope there is a big break in this case any day now and Hailey comes home.

CZ, if you know, when Redcat first came here on 12/31, she was it "widely believed" that Hailey had left with an old boyfriend. Had you heard that rumor too? Redcat has since said that this was dismissed but that it had been the initial thought of many.
If this was the rumor, it might have affected how quickly police took Hailey's disappearance seriously.

This is a small town, and gossip is rampant, whether there is a grain of truth to it or not. Yes, I heard this one also, but not from anyone who was in a postition to know anything about Hailey, so I personally disregarded it, just as I did the hundred other things that were going around.

As far as if that made a difference in how the PD looked at Hailey's disappearace, I can't say. Seems to me that all of the officers would also know how the gossip is here, and not put much stock in it, but who knows?

I think that about myself sometimes too! Having been married to an addict for many years had that benefit I suppose..Right now my internal LD is OFF THE CHARTS unfortunately...

It looks like the OP is offline now, but I am really curious about this statement. Of course I would be glad for everyone to feel differently about Billie, but I got to thinking. Now, I promise I am not trying to start any type of argument here, or question anyone's opinion, but I really would like to hear from anyone who would jump in and answer this.

If Billie took another poly, and passed, would that in your mind absolve her of any knowledge of Hailey's disappearance (or coverup after the fact)? And along those same lines, what if Shawn took another and passed - would that change your feelings on him at all, or has he already proved himself to be involved simply by his odd actions at work and with LE?

If Billie took another lie detector test and passed, I would feel even more strongly that she isn't involved in any way in the disappearance of Hailey. If Shawn took the lie detector test and passed, I would wonder if he passed because he was innocent or because he was a sociopath/psychopath without a conscience who could pass even while telling lies. I don't know if he had anything to do with Hailey's disappearance but I feel like he could be a dangerous person under some circumstances. Even if he were cleared of doing something to Hailey, I would hope Billie wouldn't go back to living with him.

You questioned DD? What did he tell you about that event? Was SA holding anything? What did SA say to him? What did he say to SA? What was the "deer in the headlights" look all about?

TIA

The answer to that my dear Wise Old Owl is probably the one thing that may make me rethink everything..or much of it anyway regarding Billie..

If all the movies, printouts, masks, and possibly purchase of drugs were not even known about there would still be two people being told by Haylie that she was afraid of SA, that he did threaten to murder, that he lurked at her door late at night, that he left work and seems to be unaccounted for after she was last seen. How can anyone just ignore Haylie's fears and the timeline yet insist that he's telling the truth.

Shawn has said he was at his mother's house in Big Spring on Tuesday.

I'm not sure you saw my question earlier czgtz but I just wanted to clarify that SA has said that he was at his mother's on both the Monday and the Tuesday when BD thought he was at work.

TIA

Respectfully, we will have to agree to disagree on this point. Just as you cannot believe Billie, I cannot believe what many of the other people quoted have said.

So pretty much everyone is lying or mistaken except for Billie?

  • #173
CZ says that Billie says that SA is still cooperating with LE? And yet they say they don't really know where he is. I really hope that is true, but I would think his lawyer would be making sure that the public was aware that he was cooperating, if he really is.

I would feel much better if Billie took and passed a polygraph, if the questions included do you have any knowledge about what happened to Hailey. As far as SA, I probably would feel better about him too, just for agreeing to take it and especially if he passed, but he still has some really unusual holes in his days that need explaining. (Not to me, of course...)

http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/serial_killers/predators/bittaker_norris/1.html

Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris raped and tortured their victims before murdering them
used hammers, pliers...........

I hope LE never has a reason to look at everything I've ever searched or downloaded on my pc. Do you have any idea what they would find?

~Respectfull Snipped~

I'm not CZ - but I'm going to answer this - the question was pretty much answered on NG. LE got it wrong. SA threatened BD and CD.

Unless there has been something further on this issue, it has been settled, actually.

I noticed NG did not back off this. I was wondering if she was getting her information from the actual police report. Has anyone seen it? I know BD did not mention HD during the 911 calls but perhaps she did when the police took her statement???

cgtzg, I know you probably dread making yourself known when you're here, lol! We pounce and that's not intentional..we just know so little for a FACT anyway. I know that you said you do not know SA well at all...but do you have any insight as to WHY Billie has so much faith in him...I guess what I'm asking is..in talking to her, has she ever said what it is about him that inspires such a loyalty to him..that it seems almost impossible for her to even consider the possibility that he may have done something to Hailey. He just doesn't strike me personally as someone whom I would be able to have such total faith in like she does. Any particular reason that you know of why she does?..other than of course the fact that no one would want to consider someone they love guilty of something so horrible..

I don't dread your questions. I just don't want to stir things up to a frenzy and start an argument.

It is hard to answer this particular question - because everyone loves someone that another person might not have any use for. But I will give it a go. I am putting a disclaimer smack dab in the middle though that this is coming out of my mouth, not Billie's. Shawn is funny, and I have heard Billie talk about how sweet and caring he is. They have gone through ups and downs like anyone else (although maybe more extreme), and she feels like she can count on him. The kids were not scared of him. While of course I have not had the opportunity to talk to Hailey about this, DD has not given any indication that he dislikes Shawn. I dont really know what else to say, because I cannot just reach into Billie's heart and pull her feelings out.

And of course there is the fact of not wanting to believe that someone you love can do something awful..... but it is more than that. Maybe Billie is in denial, as so many people say, but I don't see it. She knows him, and for whatever reason feels in her heart that he is not capable of hurting her kids.

Redbird, I see you down there :)..can't hide around here, lol! Do you have any idea what hours BD was working? I don't think that you know her personally, but since it is a smaller town..I wondered if you had any idea what the normal hours were for her position as a ward clerk (IIRC)at the hospital might be?..

Who reads all of those stories, prints them out, watches horror movies...and doesn't worry about locking their doors and windows!!!???

Ya know . . . that's the $20,000 question! :)

After I read about the BTK killer and the way he just walked into people's houses in the middle of the day, I started keeping my door locked all the time even when all of us are at home. My kids make fun of me, but it gives me peace of mind.

And I live in a small town too where crime is rare.

it nice to see you czgt:seeya:

Well what I seen and read about Hailey I don't see the runway theory.

Do you know if LE will also looking at the case of Elizabeth Ennen?

I heard on the news that LE looked into it, but I don't know anything else.

If BD took and passed a polygraph that was done by FBI (not her own ppl),
I think it would help us all be able to set aside the ugly thoughts about what goes on in that home, and really focus on possibilities OUTSIDE of the home.

The same would go for SA. Don't forget that most have preconceptions about small town law enforcement, as well.

A passed polygraph (conducted by FBI) would move us beyond the "this is just another Hayleigh Cummings situation" (i.e., drugs, lowlifes, and generational neglect/abuse) which I am fearing this is rapidly becoming.
