Yes, it is very odd. I would want to know if someone threatened me and my child... the person who heard the threat thought enough of it to make a report, but didn't tell Billie. And LE didn't tell her either until recently. It was not mentioned if they questioned him (or tried to locate him) when the threat was actually made.

Not only does it sound odd, it sounds unbelievable.

They were found by searchers out on the fields.

This area we live in is traveled by Hispanics who have crossed the border seeking a better life. Any rancher or farmer will tell you that on more than one occassion, they have found all sorts of things left behind.

Not discounting the find, it should be checked out but one would think if it were related to HD, there would be a "trail".

Beginning of the search zone for us.
You almost always start at ground zero if you will (her house in this case) and radiate out. If you go days or in this case weeks without success, then you start over. We are currently gridding areas roughly 1,000 sq feet in and around Colorado City for searching.

I don't think the public needs to hear from Billie; LE is the only group she needs to convince of her timetable. She says she is not worried about what anyone thinks of her, so why hold a press conference to go over her version of events? Do that with LE, behind closed doors, when you go in for your FBI polygraph.

You know, you're right, C. Billie needs to talk only to LE. LE will then release to us any and all info they feel will be helpful to Hailey for us, the public, to know.

If someone else reported this guy to the police and they didn't follow up on it or tell BD until now, but can't find the guy: Was this some sort of comment made on an internet forum or website over a year ago? If so, and they can't find the guy, then we may all know who it could have been.

Is it possible, as there have been so many 'misunderstandings' in this case, that the actual report of the threat was made 2 weeks ago, and it was concerning a threat made a year ago?

No one has stated she purchased those items. Some were curious if she did purchase them that day. The only fact concerning them is that they were in her room during an interview with her mother.

So by definition discernment could be replaced with judgment or say perception.....basically he said the family's perception of the truth continues to change. With all respect...there haven't been any grandmas/grandpas/aunts/uncles/cousins mentioned in this case at all other than Clint's mom being on NG that I'm aware of. That leaves BD and CD....they won't even take CD up on his offer for a poly. This is the kind of stuff that has some of us scratching our heads.

Quoting my own post rude I know...... and if she is afraid of her rights then take an attorney with her. But an investigation is only as good as the foundation. And so far we are not hearing that conflicting statements have been cleared up. She is Hailey's voice.

With all due respect, why, why, why do you think that Billie has not told LE everything she knows, and everything she thinks?

She has, and from the very beginning. Yes, that one time that she was questioned until midnight she asked LE to take her home... but she was right back with them the next morning. And the next day and the next. And she calls her contact in the Rangers more than all the agencies combined call her.

As far as not hearing that conflicting statements have been cleared up, I cant answer for LE. I am not bashing them in any way. But I haven't heard anything worth repeating from them publicly in weeks. I know, PK is the media liason, but he is not LE, he is only saying what they let him (or what he wants to - who knows). Either way, LE is not saying a lot to the public. I guess they have their reasons.

It would be very embarassing to have to admit to the public that they knew about this threat for an entire year, did not warn BD, still called HD a runaway in spite of the fact that they had reports of not one, but two grown men threatening her, then failed to reveal the threat for two weeks following Hailey's disappearance. Now it appears that they finally informed BD after realizing that they have no idea where this man is!

I guess I can understand why CCPD didn't use the media to find him.

I wonder if they shared this info with the FBI, Secret Service, and Texas Rangers? I'm thinking that if they had the whole story, one of those agencies could find this man pretty fast!

Reporters need to file for documentation of this threat to see exactly what happened.

if I flip it upside down ...it still reads that the family has not been forthcoming.... and im not thinkin they mean anyone then those within the home...as they are speaking of the timeline

What sort of criminal calls LE to threaten someone and their child?

I'm thinking that BD has misinterpreted something along the line there. Communication doesn't appear to be her strong suit.
She needs a spokesperson.

About the snacks- my 13 yo walks to the corner store near our home sometimes. He buys chips, candy, beef jerky, gum etc. He will buy 2-3 of each item. A bag full. He earns his own money and uses some of it this way. (Yes, he's a snacker)
But, he doesn't eat it all at once.
IMO, Hailey could have done this

Maybe Hailey didn't eat her snacks all at once, but it seems likely she would take them on a sleepover, at least to me. As well as her hoodie and her ipod.

Does anybody know if a surveillance camera would be able to zoom with enough clarity, to actually see a customers purchase? JW It really would be interesting to know if the snacks mentioned in the article ,were purchased by HD when she was there on Sunday the 26th. IMO
