Colorado City City Manager Pete Kampfer says the witness statements mentioned by Billie could not be validated.

Kampfer said Monday he did not attend the press conference because it would "Be out of line for me to be involved in a press conference along with her, there may be some things we disagree with."

Billie expressed frustration with Police that they have not named other suspects, to which Kampfer responded, "Right now, we have lots of suspicion, things that are put together that lead to a person of interest, Shawn Adkins."

He said at this time Law Enforcement may not want to name anyone else, because they don't want to tip off other persons of interest on their investigation.

He added that Billie Dunn is not a person of interest in her daughter's case.

I'm reading between the lines here:

My interpretation of PK talk:

They are not happy with BD's "new and improved" timeline. They don't want to tip off other POI's that they are POI's. So uh, yeah that means that BD is not a POI. In other words, even if BD was a POI after stating that they didn't want to name anyone so they want know then he better say she's not so that she doesn't get a clue. JMO and all that jazz.

But they're not going to tell her who they've talked to..what they said, etc..They aren't about to tell anyone..that's part of Billie's problem...or it seems to me..She's trying to pull a Cindy Anthony telling them how to run their investigation when she has NO CLUE what they discount and why..CA had an ulterior motive for doing that, imo...to shift the focus away from KC any way she could...

I think there may be some semantics going on here. Cindy Anthony would not have been a person of interest in Caylee's death, but that doesn't mean LE thinks she is being forthcoming and cooperative.

I empathize with BD's pain, but I don't understand her approach here. I don't understand her support of SA or her being in contact with him. Even if I believed he didn't harm my child I would be furious with him for being the center of attention because he is a liar.

That could cost precious precious time when it counts the most. It concerns me that BDs anger seems to be directed to LE and CD and anyone else it can be displaced on rather than SA.

Something still doesn't feel right to me in the overall story. And it may be the investment she has in SA and what that mean about the dynamic that Hailey was living with.

I don't think BD harmed her herself or knows the gory details, but I think she is avoiding them rather than pursuing an answer. Fortunately she does not have the ability to really harm the case by giving what appears to be veiled attempts at an alibi for SA. Stating that Hailey was seen with her sleep over friend after SA would have an alibi with BD and all....

He may have meant that he disagree's with parts of the timeline in regards to SA though, not necessarily the portions that BD knows firsthand. And I think BD made it clear that some of her timeline was second hand from DD and SA. JMO

This from 48 Hours Mystery/cbs site says that Klemfer told them they did find something at landfill and it is a "sensitive part of the investigation."
For what it's woth.

Authorities have confirmed that pieces of clothing were found by volunteers in Howard County. A pair of socks are now in the hands of Colorado City Police. They would not say if the evidence is related to the case.

Ok, I will admit right now... I am a fence sitter lol :fence: That comment is kind of weird, isn't it? they don't care what SA knows that they know, but they do care if 'unnamed POI's' know? I know a lot of you on here believe that BD threw out this 'other POI' the last few days to try and deflect from SA, however; it's been said that she was asked not to talk about it today (which I believe she was told this, since it wasn't mentioned), and then the comment above? Any one think that their actually might be something valid with this unnamed POI?

IMO, she leaves no doubt...purposely...I'm really surprised that no one stepped up and told her she may come off as more believable and credible leaving all that unnecessary carp off. To my knowledge he NEVER said anything negative about her..defended her as a matter of fact..So, what WAS the point of that supposed to be anyway?

If not a POI in a disappearance, can one be a POI in the aftermath or the cover-up? Or aiding and abetting? Just wondering if it could be a techincally correct sentence and yet still mean something else.

Also, if Billie is taking the evening sighting to be true and correct, then she is, in fact, indicating that MB lied. MB already said she did not see Hailey on that day. You can't have it both ways.

LE could think that you are intentionally trying to interfere with an investigation, intentionally trying to create a doubt, etc....

or LE could think that you are wrong, misled, unwilling to look at reality, and any other flavor of less flattering descriptions

They could both believe the things she is saying are inaccurate and that there is evidence to the contrary and believe that she is not covering up a crime.

She can't hide what she doesn't know. Doesn't paint a flattering picture of her, but being clueless is not a crime.

Not sure I am on the bandwagon of easily led astray by the svengally powers of SA (I have seen his videos and his posts, he ain't that charming).....

Yes! In Gabriel Johnson's case, they named Jack Smith a POI, then publicly took him off POI status, but said the investigation was continuing, and the door open in case they came up with more evidence.

On the same day, his wife, who had also been a POI, was arrested :floorlaugh:
