I could be wrong but Billie doesn't seem to have a deceitful bone in her body. She's come straight out with answers that people might find sketchy, like meeting SA on Myspace. In so many other cases we've seen innocent family members try to hide or gloss over things but Billie doesn't seem to be doing that at all. She might not be looking at SA completely realistically but I think she's been more straightforward and forthcoming than just about every family member in this position I've seen.

Dr. Duncan: if cleanup at hotel room, would find residue; DNA is microscopic; could find more DNA material despite cleaning

Do you think she's doing a good job?

She is letting Billie get everything out.

And the myspace meeting thing...... tons of people meet online these days. Whether or not I agree with it, that is the way it is now. I am sure just about everyone knows someone who has met someone online.

is it true SA refused to take poly? said we couldn't take poly because we had taken medicine

  • #266
BillyD: they said we couldnt take poly, cause we had taken medicine

Where is the boyfriend from originally. If they communicated for a month online before meeting, I am ASSUMING not in the same town? Sorry I am sure this has been covered.

Yeah, I wouldn't want that piece of info publicly known.

I agree, I totally believe Billie, But not SA, and I really think that is why Billie failed.

Billie was questioned for 10 straight hours. Shawn wasn't kept long - he was back at the headquarters today.

BillyD: he went back to police today; to talk to investigators some more;
we dated for 2 1/2 years before he moved in

  • #272
met each other and dated for 2 1/2 years before he had moved in and had been there for 4 months when Hailey went missing

Agreed it is not uncommon or unusual these days.

Knew each other for about 2/12 yrs. before SA moved in.
SA was only living there for 4 months

  • #275
Well, I feel better she knew him for 2 1/2 years before moving him in. That's good.

  • #276
SA was shaken on learning Hailey was missing.

  • #277
is this the 1st time she has gone for a sleepover with out asking?

she's always left notes or asked, or told david or shawn

so telling shawn was not abnormal it sounds

Thoughts on the polygraphs:

- doesn't there have to be a PATTERN of 'wrong' answers? Not just one or two. Seems like you don't 'pass' or 'fail' but there's a percentage of wrong answers where they decide that you know something

- yes, they are upset and tired, stressed. But how many folks who take a polygraph are calm, well-rested, and stress-free? Most of those people are probably nervous as heck, too.

- I can see one person 'failing' but FIVE? or a HANDFUL? Having a PATTERN of wrong answers?

My conclusion:

- machine is screwed up

OR

- polygraph administrator/interpreter doesn't know what he's doing (although I'm sure they've had FBI or whoever read the printout to make sure it's being interpreted correctly)

OR

- big cover up

I do not think it is the 3rd one. Doesn't fit here... So WHAT is it?

BillyD re SA's response: he came straight home; appeared shaken to me; started supporting me right away

I wish HAILIE would have told her mom directly what she was doing that night...
