Furthermore, KTXS has learned over the past several days, that other family members have made various conflicting and unconfirmed claims – declaring, at different times, that at least four different people have failed the polygraph tests.

It may be a group of people, possibly older boys, out of high school? IF HD lied about spending the night with MB, maybe it was to meet an older boyfriend. Who may have turned out to not be much of a "friend" at all. She may have went willingly, then got into a situation that put her in over her head, and may even be being kept against her will now. Regardless, I don't think she would have willingly stayed gone this long, even if she did run away.

Just thinking out loud

Maybe I missed it, but did HD have a cell phone with her when she left the house? I just wonder why no one checked in with her after she left (waiting until the following day).

Thanks!

Mel

I wonder if LE has specific reasons for stating they believe Hailey to be alive, or if we are hearing the Portland version, no evidence that she is not alive.

Especially when one's a cheerleader.

Speaking of this, and sorry if it's already been covered, but why is being a cheerleader used as her identity right now?

On NG, she says "13 year old Cheerleader." If she weren't a cheerleader, would it be any less urgent? I just don't understand the need to use that as her description.

Czgtz, I am so glad someone set an account up for her. Thank you for letting us all know about it. Billie has a very good friend in you.

That I don't know, I was just saying it is EXPENSIVE to be a cheerleader.

From what I understand, the household shares one cell phone, and it is left at the house. She wouldn't have taken it with her.

Michael Board, reporter for WOAI radio, was just on HLN & said he'd talked to the TX Rangers 'minutes ago'...he said they believe Hailey is still alive.

He also said LE told him the community has been very cooperative re: the searches, and he talked about the conflicting info on the polys (LE saying they didn't give results).

He didn't mention anything about a 'small group of people involved' in Hailey's disappearance...I would think that would be important to report on nat'l TV if it's important enough for WOAI to have it on their website....JMOO.

Wonder what they have that makes them believe that she is alive? Would it be possible that she still has an iphone with her - hmmm no because they should be able to trace the pings. What have they got?

In my mind, the officials seem to be in a CYA mode. "Focusing on a small group of people"?????......... Leading the public to believe Billie is a liar, all the while searching door to door, in closets, riverbeds, along the river, cemetery's, by air, their home, their shed.....

IMO they have no freakin idea where she is, they have nothing.

If I am right, I can't think of a more despicable thing to do to a frantic mother.

If I'm wrong, I have never been so throughly fooled in my entire life.

Mine do too unless it is a spur-of-the moment decision. One thing that concerns me too is that she supposedly told AS that she was spending the night with her friend. Then, the friend said they had not talked about it or made plans.

I'm going to admit to my evil teen years. :) That was a trick I used when I wanted to do something I was not supposed to. I would tell my mom I was spending the night with X person. If I had a buddy for whatever it was, they would do the same. Voila, free time all evening and night. I lived in a small town too. Parents just trusted us for some strange reason.

That right there raised a red flag for me and it makes me think that Hailey was meeting up with someone she wasn't supposed to see.

I used those same tricks when I was a teen, but a much older teen. Like 17 and 18 etc. Hailey is only 13. I have a 13 year old daughter and there is NO way she would do anything like that. I think there are a lot of differences today in 13 year olds mind you, but Hailey looks to be a "younger" 13 year old if you know what I mean? She didn't look like she was the type who was "putting herself out there" if you know what I mean. I hope beyond hoping though that i'm perfectly wrong and that Hailey is at this very moment with some friend because that's the only way I see this young girl ever coming home. God bless her.

Thank you! I sooooo hope this is true!

I am afraid this article is referencing a statement from the City Manager's interview on 1/5/2010.

I remember transcribing that portion of the video and wondering why he would even use the "suspects" at that time...the article has since been updated and includes his statement in whole (see below).

I pray this is current and not another result of bad reporting.

<snipped>

City Manager, Pete Kampfer, says authorities are investigating specific individuals but he would not disclose any more information. "I know they are working on different leads and some of them could be referred to as suspects or subjects. Authorities are being very aggressive on that of course that's part of the investigation and I do not have those names, but I know they are working on those particular individuals," Kampfer said.

I've been thinking the same things. By all accounts, Hailey is highly intelligent, but just how savvy is any 13 year old girl? Someone knows something. Someone saw her. This is so frustrating.

I'm trying to see them being in CYA mode, but then I think for what? Alot of cases have started out with LE thinking the child ran away, we have another one going on right now on here, they aren't going to extremes to cover their butt, why would these? The Amber alert, well it didn't meet the criteria. I just really don't see all the agencies doing all of this just to cover their backside. That being said, I honestly believe Billie is telling the truth, so WTH is going on, I don't know..........but something is.

I think everyone referring to her as a cheerleader is a reference to her being involved in activities in school, perky, popular.....making it much less likelky that this young lady would be a runaway. I have to admit her cheerleading picture is adorable. Well adjusted kids don't tend to run away from home.

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree but what about the older brothers friends...we haven't heard anything about them. Kinda reminds me a bit of Kayleah Wilson. A young girl who was involved with one of the older brothers friends.

Just trying to think because this case is very frustrating, praying for her safe return home...

eta: another reason I ask is that my dd is 12.5 and my ds is 16.5 as my dd is growing and becoming a beautiful young woman I have on occasion noticed attention from my sons friends that I have had to nip in the bud before something could ever happen. Not anything inappropriate mind you as my son is very protective of his baby sister but I notice an interest and it made me uncomfortable, of course I was told by both of my kids that I was overreacting but it did cause my boy to be more observant when his friends were around his sister.

So, just started looking today - guess no presser?
Everyone still wondering who/ what/ where to look as there is no info from le?

For whats its worth I also believe mom and dad. Mom looked so tired and in so much pain that I just wanted to hug her thru the TV screen.. I pray Hailey is ok. One thing that her fellow nurses could do for Billie is to donate 1-2 days of their PTO (personal time off) days to Billie. We do that to help out coworkers who are confronted with huge health problems.

Just noted that not every post is from the iPhone app. So, there's a computer out there somewhere she has used.

Still trying to catch up so idk if this got answered or not. I have an iPhone and sometimes I have problems with the fb app crashing or having other bugs. Most of the time I check fb thru safari which is the browser on the iPhone. When I post from safari it doesn't say I posted from my iPhone. When I add anything from the fb app is when it says posted from iPhone. Hth.
