Dead mom in the garage gets called in as a “welfare check” by the ex, who just happens to be dropping off the kids.
Definitely not a “ hurry, someone is lying on the garage floor in a puddle of blood, send an ambulance!”
Those poor kids. What a nightmare!
MOO

The article I read said he called 911, will they release 911 calls in Texas I wonder?

It might not have been the ex who called for a welfare check. The article seems poorly written and the writer clearly didn't have the details of who called, and when.

If the article is accurate, then it is all quite bizarre.

I guess they've updated it This is in the article gitana1 linked :

"When authorities arrived at the 25500 block of White Oak Lane, they reportedly found her dead body in the garage with an apparent gunshot wound.

Vines’ ex-husband said he was at her house dropping off their two children, ages 8 and 12, when they found her body."

Credit union robbery suspect subdued with Tazer, cuffed

“Seals said Cavanaugh, who is also being questioned in two other robberies in the greater Houston area and has a criminal history of burglary of a habitation and motor vehicle, family violence and criminal trespassing, wasn’t the smartest criminal he had ever run across.”

“Smart Financial, ironically, is the official credit union for Montgomery County,” he said.
“And when he came to pick up his last paycheck, he told the receptionist that he was wanted for robbery and asked if the police had come around, looking for him. You can’t fix stupid.”

Out of prison by just a few months and a career criminal (family violence?!?) what was the attraction?
Just left her there for her children to find their mother murdered in their own home!
At least they weren’t home and he didn’t kill them too.
RIP Holly
