This hurts my heart. RIP little ones.

Thanks for posting. A thorough article, but there was no way I could read about what each of those little angels endured.
I hope this becomes a thorough investigation. The gruesome and unnecessary pain and deaths will not be in vain if significant changes are made. We all have heard of the shortcomings, and some of our WS'ers here have been on CPS staffs, etc., and they have let us know of their earnest efforts and many frustrations. Understaffed, underpaid, and under-budgeted is the plea, and I don't doubt any of that. Fixing this unfortunate situation for the counties and states of this country would/will take lots of money and lots of competent, caring and dedicated staff on all levels. And if it becomes a "Rob Peter to pay Paul," I think we all know which one will get the short straw -- again.
Positive thoughts and actions -- talking to the press about the negative and the positive would also help this horror to become more well-known and could encourage caring people to ask the powers that be to loosen the purse-strings for our most important natural resources -- our young babies and children.
Sometimes it's hard to breathe when I'm reading such an article...
