TX - Houston jogger finds missing baby dumped in bushes

Can you repost the link to the store video? I can't find it.

I want to do a little "behavior analysis" of the video...particularly on the body language of those seen standing around and also of the mother screaming frantically and the clerk's reaction as well.

I am going by the description of the video given by the police.
I think they are going to release it later today.

Ok...sorry, I thought the actual video was there and I kept missing it. I'll keep an eye out for it.:blushing:

I know. I was just clicking and clicking on that video, and nothing happened!

Again, for those who think the story stinks-there is a video, and it supports mother's account.
Obviously she is telling the truth.

if video survellience shows her car being driven off by a man then that is what happened.

As to her telling the truth. :fence:

I suspect there is more to this story.

Her reason for this gas station run at 1 am

The reason the clerk allegedly wouldn't call 911

The reason she did not simply go to the next available business or home and start beating on doors and screaming for someone else to call 911.

All questions that remain unanswered and IMO will factor into the backstory here.

per other published reports the car was taken around 1 am but the 911 call was made around 3-3:30

If this mother ran the few blocks home I am confused by that time gap?

The mother first chased her vehicle, but when the suspect would not stop, she frantically ran back into the store trying to tell the clerk and other customers what happened. Houston police said they reviewed surveillance video from inside the gas station and after the car was stolen the baby's mom ran back inside and frantically tried to get someone to help and to call 911. Her phone and keys were inside the stolen car.

Appearing to be frustrated, police said, because no one appeared to help her, she left and ran the few blocks to her apartment. Neighbors told Local 2 she kicked down her own door, went inside and called 911 herself. An Amber Alert was issued shortly thereafter.

same article discusses LE watching tape from INSIDE the store but makes no reference to if tape of the actual car being stolen exists (ie. outside video surveillance)

see my BBM in the above post

Other articles make it clear there is video outside the store as well.

I'm not surprised no one helped. That's kind of classic crowd behavior - if no one moves to help quickly, no one will ever help. They'll all just stand there staring.

I haven't seen a picture of this woman but she may not look approachable.

At 1:30 a.m., that's an odd time of night. People out at a convenience store at that hour are likely to be a little sketchy and a different crowd from the ones you'd see there at 6 who might be much more willing to help her.

Ticya - in Texas it's not a good idea to go banging on people's doors at 1:30 a.m. That's a pretty good way to get shot, sadly enough. Since she was only a couple blocks away, best to run to her apartment and kick her own door down.

But if she was only a few blocks from home why did it take her from 1am to 3 or 3:30 am to make that 911 call.

lots of contradictory info out there.

hoping some of these reports can be nailed down further.

per Kefe Smith, spokesman for Houston Police Department

But the mother didn't have her cellphone and had to find a way home before she could report her daughter missing at about 3:30 a.m., Smith said.

It didn't take her to call at 3:30 am. Call to police was made at 1:42 am according to the press conference.

Not my fault the police spokesperson got it wrong or the reporter quoting him. I am linking what WS considers to be good links. I am not attempting to vilify some innocent mother, simply attempting to ascertain what is fact and what is hooey.

thank you for the link to the presser. So the spokesperson misspoke. Seems we are seeing a lot of that lately.

Too bad, I remember when you could take statements by police personnel as pretty much the best factual stuff you were going to get. Obviously a reporter paraphrased Mr. Smith and did so badly.

watch the video you linked at 5:33 and shortly after.

The mother after seeing the man take her car and giving brief chase returned to the store to ask that they call police, 911 is called there were some customers there also. That is when she went to her apartment and called 911 again.

This action is odd to me but waiting to see what else comes out given the errors in reporting that seem to have been taking place early on in this case.

LOL...I definitely live in Texas and I'm sorry, people just don't have guns blazing all the time here.

"hinky meters" usually go off of the information been given. The information that was given was bazaar, to say the least.
