police department wouldnt have record of inmate visits. the police dept is local (city or county) and a penitentiary is state.

Right but maybe the police dept does? I would think they would have copies of the visitor log of that day and the next day. And based on your theory, maybe the cops didn't ask the right questions to these visitors? If the driver who picked up WCJD and took her as far as Huntsville was interviewed, maybe he didn't fess up because he was afraid to become apart of the crime or become a suspect?

Since very extensive yearbook searches of Texas have turned up empty, it seems likely that she could have hailed from a surrounding state. Louisiana, Oklahoma, and New Mexico seem likely. It would be great to find out if she had a distinctive Louisiana accent; however, I feel like that would be noted by Bobby Roach, or the truck stop waitress, and it was not.

I could not find any information about an isotope analysis. There would be potentially helpful information with that. I'm assuming one has never been completed, does anyone know?

As many yearbooks as I have searched in Classmates, it is still less than half of the total 79 and 80 yearbooks for all schools in that area. So it is possible that she is in one of the books unavailable in Classmates (or Ancestry). Or it is possible that she was a high school dropout, or was unavailable on photo-day.

I had presumed that to be the case with Caledonia Jane Doe (who was ID'd as Tammy Jo Alexander). But as it turned out, she was in a HS yearbook. And that book was in Classmates.

I could not find any information about an isotope analysis. There would be potentially helpful information with that. I'm assuming one has never been completed, does anyone know?

I'm not sure Isotope analysis is sensitive enough to distinguish Texas water from that of Louisiana or Oklahoma.

That certainly makes sense. I was wondering if one was ever completed--from my understanding, there was never one.

However, if one was completed, and like you said about the isotopes coming from the Colorado River, it could possibly be detected that she was from New Mexico.

StillSeekAnswers has been communicating back and forth with Sgt Billingsley of the Walker County Sheriff's Office regarding this case. She showed him my recon and asked him what he thought of the resemblance. He said that his opinion from looking at all of the crime scene photos and coroner's photos is that her hair was shorter than has been depicted in all of the previous recons of WCJD, and despite the written description of her hair being "past her shoulders".

He says that her hair was not long enough to reach her shoulders. I shortened her hair in my recon and SSA sent it to him again. He says that this is about right, and this more accurately depicts her "look" than any of the other recons.

I wonder why she was reported to have longer hair. Your reconstruction is excellent Carl, it breathes life into her and is super accurate. She was so beautiful. I hope she is brought home very, very soon. Justice for Walker County Jane Doe!

(Also, I hope a news report is done for the 35th anniversary of her discovery, as is currently being done for Arroyo Grande Jane Doe today. That would be wonderful if that was widely distributed).

Crime Watch Daily just recently did a show on Woodlawn Jane Doe. I have been working with them in connection to an episode that they are planning regarding the Tammy Jo Alexander (formerly Cali Doe) case. They are also very interested in doing a show on WCJD, as well as a few other cases involving UID homicide victims.

Carl, do a check for Magnolia High School in Magnolia, Texas on Classmates. We're fairly close to Huntsville (about 1 hour). If it's not there, I can call the school and see if they have them in the library and check them out. Another city is Conroe. Both are in very close proximity to I-45.

This is interesting. I found an inmate list for Ellis Unit which states names, sentences, date of crime and the city in which the crime occurred. Maybe this can narrow things down?

I haven't even started looking in Montgomery County yet. I have been focused on the Gulf Coast from Houston to Brownsville.

Classmates does have Conroe HS 1979 book. But they don't have the Magnolia HS 1979 or 1980 books.
