I wish we could input her DNA into ancestry and see if any close matches pop up. I would be willing to trace the ancestry backwards to find her parents if she was linked to a third or even fourth cousin.

That's such a nice thought, but they can't do that with the form her DNA is in.

I really wish isotope analysis was done. I know it's really expensive but it could really help.

Another thing just sprang to mind. Sorry to discuss something so graphic, but I recall in one news article about this case that panties and or pantyhose had been forced inside of WCJD to stop her bleeding after being sexually assaulted. I wonder if they got any DNA from that? Or could trace which store / where the panties were bought.

It it really makes me sick to think some monster could do such a thing to a little girl. It doesn't bear thinking about.

Apparently, they still have the sandals, and, according to NFM, they may/may not have obtained her killer's DNA from it. (LE will not publicly release whether they did or not).

As for tracing the location. I think it'd be worth a shot, though lots of panties are widely distributed in packs. Still worth a try, of course--anything to bring her home.

Also agree about the isotope analysis. I really, really, truly hope they do that soon. She could have been from pretty much anywhere, and it would be a good way to narrow it down. It's expensive, but it will definitely push the case forward.

Could they have test her hair, maybe, to trace for pollen? They did that with Tammy Jo Alexander only with her clothes. Though I assume hair would decompose by now, I'm no biology expert.

That's a good idea. They'd be likely to have better luck with the sandals than with the hair. They'd have lots of cracks and such for pollen to get stuck in.

I'm just wondering about this case... Are investigators, LE, etc, positive that the girl seen at the truck stop asking for directions to the prison is the same girl as the doe? Could she just have resembled a different girl?

Also, I was thinking to myself that maybe this girl was killed by an abusive family member. She may have run away to be with someone in the prison whom she thought would save her from her abusive family. However the family member caught up with her and killed her. Did not leave biological evidence as to not be linked to the crime. No missing persons reports were filed.

I think I recall reading somewhere that the gas station attendant ID'd her body as the girl he'd seen the night before. I'm not sure where I read that, maybe a link somewhere earlier in the thread.

The more I think about this case, the more I believe it may be related to that of orange socks. However I'm not sure both the girls were killed by Henry Lee Lucas. It occurred to me that LE may not have released evidence from Ruthie's sandals because they connected her to orange socks and didn't want to inform the public of a re opened homicide case.

Just speculation of course.

That would be a good explanation for not releasing whether they have DNA.

If that was the case, then it would be similar to Bitter Creek Betty, who had DNA evidence on her remains that was connected to another unidentified woman found closeby.

Does anyone here know if DNA evidence was collected from Orange Socks? Will go over to her thread and ask there as well.

hell, all 4 of them could be tied. I feel that a truck driver murdered them all.

Have to agree--I don't think any of these murders were personal. I think they were all done by a sick, sick man who knew he could get away quickly.

They were all sexually assaulted FWIW, although unfortunately that is very common with female victims :(

you know, bitter creek betty was said to have been tortured and whoever killed her was sadisitic. her cause of death was an ice pick up the nostril. and they say the same for ruthie. (well not the cause of death but that her killer was sadistic and she was tortured) certainly not the only women to have that fate but it strikes me the killer was probably a trucker in both cases.

I think, while these cases may not all be tied, they are all similar. Hitchhiking is really dangerous. I remember as a teenager I was very troubled and ran away a few times, and when I came home my parents were relieved to hear I hadn't hitchhiked. Almost more so than me being back in one piece! Lol.

But it it's not too much to believe that these crimes were all committed by truck drivers. I believe so, anyway.

This photo wasn't available then. A man very recently said he believes she may be the girl photographed, who he met.

M TIME STRAPPED BUT DID ANYONE POST THIS YET , I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS PIC!!!!! you would think that this would be released at the time for possible id?????

http://www.missingpersonsofamerica.com/2015/12/seeking-identity-of-woman-possible.html

I had seen the photo in the last couple of days but it suggests at the top of your link that it was obtained with some items relating to Walker Doe. That is the bit surprising to me because like Springrain has mentioned it was apparently shared with someone to find her name - so thankyou for posting the link :-)

Yeah, it was not "found with some items relating". I feel they should change that, it is misleading--though I sure am happy to see the picture getting more exposure :)
