If the ex-boyfriend thought the wife was being abused, why didn't he send the emails and pictures to the police before deciding to shoot someone? Pretty stupid if you ask me.

There was more to the story here. The victim's wife and ex-boyfriend were communicating non-stop and she was obviously not willing to contact LE or press charges against her husband for the alleged abuse (especially since it was not true). She was totally playing the dude the faked emails were timed to push him over the edge. Her goal was for her husband to be dead, not arrested. MOO

So this means it was actually pre-meditated on the part of the husband. Not something he did spontaneously in reaction to her emails.

Not the husband, the boyfriend.

Yes, I believe this was premeditated by both the widowed wife and boyfriend but it was first reported that she'd not seen the boyfriend since high school some 30 years ago and did not recognize him as the assailant and/or when he was taping her hands trying to rob her. Boyfriend hasn't entered a plea on the murder charge yet and has been silent all this time so we don't have his story yet. I hope they both accept responsibility and save Jaime's family the pain of a trial.

Honestly, I think it was extremely stupid - the boyfriend could've easily reported the evidence of abuse to authorities instead of taking the law into his own hands.

I agree with you.

I knew the murder charge against her was coming the minute it was disclosed she had texted him to tell him to remove the sticker from his truck window and "clean it real good" so she'd "feel so much better". She knew he was the killer and he knew she knew he was the killer.

I posted shortly after her husband was killed about "how does one hold a gun in one hand while duct-taping her with the other" and within the next couple posts another poster asked the websleuths classic line, "who brings duct tape to a gun fight?".

She knew that day that the BF killed her husband and there's not an iota of doubt in my mind about that. The BF had 'hands on' her that day to effect the ineffective duct-taping. He knew. She knew. That day. The fact she didn't out him to the police that very day means they both knew before that day what was going to go down. He may have been manipulated into thinking things with her hubby and her relationship were worse than they were, but they both knew what was going to happen on that morning.

She had to know who that was tho she acted different. I don’t believe his notion of being manipulated into this either. The murder was very well planned out and I’m glad that she hung herself with texts, tho I wonder if her lawyer will try and get around that.

A defense-attorney friend says, "Criminals are stupid."

What a couple of morons.

This is my first post. Criminals almost always hang themselves. Can anyone tell me how to put a crime on this site? I have a murder that happened in 2015 to a lady that was well know in our community.

Her lawyer will definitely try to get passed the texts. Is this the only thing they have on her?

They always turn on each other.

Either here in “Crimes In The News” or “Cold Cases”. Go to create thread near the top and just fill it in. They like links to media and reference.
Welcome and I’ll look for it.

Jennifer Faith agrees to plead guilty in husband's killing | wfaa.com

Jan 28, 2022

Next week, Jennifer Lynne Faith, 49, plans to voluntarily waive her rights as a defendant and plead guilty to the murder-for-hire charge, the agreement said. She will also have to give information and testimony about her involvement in her husband's death, according to the document, obtained by WFAA.

After talking to her lawyers, "Faith has concluded that it is in her best interest to enter into this plea agreement and all its terms, rather than to proceed to trial in this case," the document said.

Faith was initially charged with obstruction of justice in the death of her husband, Jamie Faith, who was killed Oct. 9, 2020, while he and Jennifer walked their dog near their Oak Cliff home.

Later in September 2021, federal authorities said she encouraged her boyfriend to commit the murder by posing under fake email accounts.

At the time, an indictment was filed in Dallas federal court which said that Faith created a Gmail account under her husband's name on April 9, 2020. With the account, she emailed her boyfriend, Darrin Ruben Lopez, posing as her husband and "taunting Mr. Lopez with details of extreme physical and sexual abuse that never actually occurred," a news release from the U.S. attorney's office said.

[..]

If Faith is found guilty on her murder-for-hire charge, she could face a maximum penalty of life in prison or the death penalty. However, as a part of the plea deal, the government will agree to recommend a life sentence in prison.

The plea agreement is conditioned upon approval from the Attorney General of the United States.
