"Mrs. Faith, I'm not sure why you're crying." US District Judge Jane Boyle said before the gavel sounded. "What you did was a betrayal. Boyle sentenced Faith to life without parole for orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot by tricking a disabled veteran into gunning down her husband, Jamie Faith, outside their north Oak Cliff home in October 2020.
"You're pure evil," Boyle told her, "Not to mention disgusting."
[..]
"He thought he was the only person that could save you," Boyle told her. "You tricked him because you thought his brain wasn't working."
[..]
"There's just some people who have devious minds," the judge said.
[..]
Calvert [Asst US Attorney] said she used lies to "weaponize Darrin Lopez."
[..]
"It's simply an agony we'll live with for the rest of our lives," Snyder said. [Jamie's best friend Jason Snyder]. .."I miss my friend."
Great find, @Seattle1, Evidently, Jennifer thinks we're stupid.
"Additional text messages recovered from Darrin Lopez’s cell phone relate to
online news articles and internet posts that discussed the James Faith murder
investigation. For example, on December 29, 2020 the following text exchange occurred between Jennifer Faith’s cell phone and Darrin Lopez’s cell phone:
11:18 PM – Jennifer Faith to Darrin Lopez: “Did you read through any of that stupid “Websleuths” thread I sent you”
11:18 PM --- Darrin Lopez to Jennifer Faith: “I should have never read it”
Your Affiant knows that “Websleuths” is an internet community that focuses on
unsolved crimes and missing persons. Registered users discuss information related to the cases and they try to solve them. The thread Jennifer Faith is referencing in the text is a forum that specifically posts about James Faith’s murder."
Doesn't matter why he did it. In law, it's what he did that that matters. (And that he knew it was a major crime, which he certainly did know).I hate myself, but I'm feeling sorry for Lopez. Somebody talk me down, lol.
And just to add, this sob story is being told to try to get him off from any penalty or responsibility for deliberately extinguishing the life of someone who didn't pose any threat to him: excuses, excuses, excuses.I hate myself, but I'm feeling sorry for Lopez. Somebody talk me down, lol.
And, from reading the early posts, within a few days of the murder, posters had recognized the deception and were unanimously pointing at the wife as part of the plot. So her calling it 'stupid', is quite ironic. No Ms. Faith, WS was not stupid, you were...Remembering Jennifer was reading WEBSLEUTHS. She sent the defendant texts in December 2020 -- a couple of months after the murder.
Here's what hangs me up: Federal Judge & US Prosecutor saw all the evidence and they openly felt sympathy for Lopez! I also wonder if Jennifer relied on Lopez being career military with arms training and all that entails i.e., shoot the enemy, take down the enemy.I hate myself, but I'm feeling sorry for Lopez. There's no doubt Ms. Evil preyed on him and those twisted emails of lies took it to another level. I think if his drive to Dallas had been longer, it may have donned on him, wtf am I doing? Traumatic brain injury delays cognitive processes.
I think the defense is just hoping that once medical evidence comes in, the mitigating circumstances will weigh heavily against a life sentence. Admittedly, I'm very biased against Lopez because of what I've read about the victim. I hold it against him that he was even friends with Jennifer! JMO
I had the same thoughts about her federal case - I just re-read what I could find on it. the way this trial is going seems disingenuous to me.
I think it is going to come down to the law and I haven't had the time to look it up.
