He was several miles out on SFR when he crashed so just a few more miles than that. It's kind of hard to see how he would have got any where near that far walking barefoot. And as @Rosiebones pointed out, getting there by river is also unlikely. I have a lot of doubts this is Jason.

Agree. If it does turn out to be him, I would definitely suspect foul play. MOO

My guess is that this is NOT Jason. I just don't see how it's possible to get that far from where he crashed his car.

Decomposing body discovered by Guadalupe River bridge

12/20/21

“It’s bones,” he said. “It’s literally bones.”

The corpse had no hair or easily discernible distinguishing features, Luna said. It was without clothes or identification leaving investigators with much to decipher, he said.

“We’ll check all of the missing person reports not just in Guadalupe County but in the surrounding areas and we’ll send the body for autopsy,” Luna said.

If this was San Marco River I think it would be a different story but not Guadalupe River. Per Twitter, there are many missing persons these remains could belong to...

I agree that the distance/location makes it very unlikely to be him. But, dental records and DNA will give certainty.

If by any chance it IS him, a lot of things change. My beliefs about what happened would make an 180 turn from a one-person misadventure, to having another person involved, with the serious possibility/likelihood of foul play. And, I think that a geofencing warrant might then be obtainable.

As a point of reference, Wikipedia provides the following:

The river begins at San Marcos Springs, rising from the Edwards Aquifer into Spring Lake. ... It is joined by the Blanco River after four miles, and passes through Luling and Palmetto State Park. Near Gonzales, it flows into the Guadalupe River after a total of 75 miles (121 km).

I know coincidences happen all the time but Jason's family made another public plea on Monday and human remains were found on Friday of the same week. On one side I wish the family has closure with this find but on the other side (if it is his remains) it points to something nefarious happening to Jason because as others have pointed out this is too far from the crash site. It would take a normally functioning person hours to walk this far (from Google maps I came up with 5 to 6 hours maybe more) but we all know Jason was in a very rough state, sadly.

Plus to get that far he would have needed to follow established roads and trails, where he surely would have been seen. If going overland, he would have needed to cross numerous fences, I-10, and other barriers, and to go around Luling.

Gonzalez is the opposite direction of where this body was found. Body was found in Seguin which is SW of Luling and Gonzalez is SE of Luling.

IMO he didn’t walk far before he was hit/picked up, so this has a possibility of being him if they decided to dump the body on there journey south.

If it is him, I'm moving to the "foul play" camp.

Since they've got dental records, and this set of remains, it seems like it would be a very very quick process to decide "it's likely Jason" or "it's not likely Jason". I would think the family has been quietly told which one is most expected.

Almost anyone could glance at a set of dental records, and look at the front teeth, and see whether they're similar or not.

In a preliminary ruling, the medical examiner has ruled out Jason as the body that was found.

I agree with Jason's father where he asks in the video posted above by our Justice4Wilder, and I now paraphrase his question:
'...why would you make public a person's strangest recent google searches...'

Knowing what topics Jason searched will not assist the public in finding him; arguably it may, potentially, help LE in their search, but out of respect and common decency for Jason and those who love him, I believe these details ought to have remained confidential.

Particularly offensive is the barely veiled glee demonstrated by the "professional" divulging this private aspect of Jason's life.
I'm disgusted by these theatrics.
