TEXSAR has worked alongside the authorities in Caldwell County since the initial search began on Monday, December 14th in the Search for Jason Landry. There have been 151 participants that have deployed to the search throughout the week. TEXSAR teams have included: search and rescue K9’s trained in live finds and human remains detection; the Mounted Search and Rescue team; UAV/drones and their operating technicians, experts in ground search and rescue and mantracking, side scan sonar, water search resources, and most recently helicopter and fixed wing aircraft.

TEXSAR members have volunteered an estimated 906 hours to this mission and driven in from all over the state to aid in the search

This case upsets me a little because I believe there were missed opportunities to change the outcome. His car was found relatively quickly after crashing. Now I realize it would be cold especially nude. I also realize he may have been impaired from both the accident and drug use. But I mean I still feel like wildlife wouldn’t have gotten to him that fast and if he hid; he must be on private property they are unable to look on. I’ve never even been to Texas. Any insight or opinions on wild life in that area?

This has been my theory from the outset. Lots of hogs out there. I fear the worst.

The vehicle Jason was driving spun out and came to rest facing the opposite direction, the driver's door resting against the barbed wire fence.

I recall authorities surmised that Jason had to squeeze out of the car door, cracked open but a few inches before stopped by the fence. The height of the fence line was believed to be in alignment with Jason's waist, and it follows that the smear of blood found on the waistband of his shorts was likely from getting scratched by the barbed wire during his close exit from the vehicle.

Jason was wearing very few clothes when he left his campus apartment: t-shirt, short pants, shorts, socks, a pair of slides, and his wristwatch. The clothes were each located scattered along Salt Flat Rd, about 900 feet from the crash scene. I recall Jason's dad saying that the clothes were scattered as if Jason was disrobing while walking towards Luling. However, Jason's wristwatch was found, carefully folded and placed on top of his shoe. Jason's backpack was also dropped on the road-- about 900 feet from the crash.

Troopers who responded to the crash scene found Jason’s backpack, ball cap, toiletries and a tumbler with his dead betta fish in it on the road about 900 feet away. They say the backpack contained a small amount of marijuana, a laptop and gaming equipment.

IMO this tells me that Jason likely did this. himself. If some bad actor had removed his watch, they would have either a) stolen it; or b) carelessly discarded it. The careful placement is telling, IMO.

Yes, and his fish. His fish is personal to him. That has always stood out to me. IMO

I found too many thing were released after, long after the crash. There was a lot more depth (good or bad) to this man than was broadcast. Even his photos varied so much, some didn't even look like the same person. Coupled with Covid there is too much missing or not said about this young man.

I think he wondered off and either fell in an oil well, unlikely because they are small but still possible and there are a lot of uncapped wells in the area. OR he was there and overlooked. It does happen enough times that years later someone comes back to find something where it was just overlooked.

There is also room for a lot of speculation but that isn't allowed by this site but Google around for some plausible theories that could've happened but probably didn't. I will stick with years from now he'll be found not too far, simply overlooked.

I agree, Mandrew. Even thinking that makes me feel even worse for his poor parents. They've worked tirelessly to solve this horrible puzzle. It's hard to imagine he's been overlooked. Prob an issue of being unable to search private property.

I watched video on yt where a guy drives from San Marcos to Luling ( to show where Jason drive that night). From Magnolia Ave ( where his phone last pinged) to Salt flat Road its like 15-20 drive and its hella secluded/ rural.

Mind you this video was taken at day time while Jason drove at 11:30 pm so it was even more scary.

I personally believe he was never at Salt flat road. Because if just cant believe he drive 20 for so long on that rural dark road without thinkg “ i where i am going”.

It's such a likely mistake imo. People also tend to stay on roads way longer than they should've.

JMO; Agreed, a stoned person might drive too far and get lost, but simply being super stoned would NOT make him strip naked, leave the comfort of his warm car and disappear naked into very inhospitable terrain--on a trip home for Christmas. JMO, but something else is going on here.

My understanding is that the clothing trail suggests that he was stripping off his clothing as he was trying to run away. Which would make it not staged.

IMO, Jason was likely impaired in some way. The friend who he FaceTimed was so alarmed that he recorded the call. Also per that friend, Jason said he was going to head off for home at 8:00 pm which would have made sense to show up at/near midnight. Leaving at 11:00 pm is quite late, meaning he'd get home after 2 or 3 am. Maybe he left later because he felt it would be safer or some of the 'high' would wear off?

That being said, his father doesn't think he was smoking in the car. He didn't see or smell any ash, half-smoked joints, or roach clips, that one would use.

I've followed this case since the beginning and I'm absolutely flummoxed at what happened.
