This is the first time I am hearing about this case. Wow, what a tragedy. I just finished the Texas Monthly article and feel a connection to Jason. I had several friends who went to Texas State in 2009-2012 and spent many spring and summer weekends driving down to visit them, tube the river, and hang out. San Marcos is a lovely little town and is the perfect fit for someone with Jasons personality. I'm sure he fit right in. I hate that it ended this way.

I also had a friend who attended Texas State who briefly got into mixing weed with DMT. It was extremely scary and it completely changed his personality when he experimented. I really believe this factors into Jasons disappearance. I hope they can come to a conclusive answer as to where Jason is and give his sweet family some closure.

Ryan said their team has conducted more than 30 searches over the past five years.
“They know where Jason is not," Ryan said. "So, this is a very comprehensive map, which is really valuable, and they will be doing a search this weekend as well."

Jason was known to be naked and barefoot in a rough, hazardous and unforgiving environment with likely bleeding (a target rich situation for tracker dogs). YET, there is no usable scent trail, despite known bare skin on ground, but somehow he managed to successfully traverse to an unknown location and hide himself so effectively that years later, no trace has been found. Even though with every step, his injuries would increase and more and more blood would be lost. The Texas Monthly articles states that trackers using trained dogs began looking for a track the evening after Jason disappeared. The weather was cool and dry.

If we were talking about a missing woman under the same circumstances, all would say FOUL PLAY.

Counterpoint: Maura Murray. Some similarities in that they were college age students, single-car accident, missing after having walked away from the site.

anyway there really isn't much new to talk about. I wish there was something.

I could have sworn I read multiple times that very little blood had been found. Something that they said was prob only from the tight squeeze from the car and a fence or something along those lines. Am I confusing this with another case or is this just information that was held back previously? Or maybe I am way off base? My memory doesn’t serve me as well as I continue to age (at least not as well as I’d like to think). I’m also still waiting for the stunning beauty that I believed I was surely going to have as aged. Jk but in all honestly I was shocked to read this because I do not remember this ever being revealed before and it kinda changes my thoughts on some of the other possibilities for me.

You are correct! Blood spots were found on Jason's underwear that were located on the road not far from his vehicle.. The Texas Monthly article mentions it: A Missing Student, a Suburban Mom, a Mysterious Facebook Profile: Inside the Jason Landry Disappearance

Blood stains on underwear are often a sign of foul play.

It wasn't like he was actively losing blood.

Droplets on the waistband iirc. Theory that he cut/caught himself on something.

Not enough to attract baracuda.

I thought it was surmised that he likely cut himself on the barbed wire fence getting out of the car.

Authorities detected a single blood smear. It was small and not indicative of serious bodily injury, officials said.

It's possible Landry was injured when he got out of the car and came into contact with the barbed wire fence or foliage.

That's the general consensus

This case upsets me a little because I believe there were missed opportunities to change the outcome. His car was found relatively quickly after crashing. Now I realize it would be cold especially nude. I also realize he may have been impaired from both the accident and drug use. But I mean I still feel like wildlife wouldn’t have gotten to him that fast and if he hid; he must be on private property they are unable to look on. I’ve never even been to Texas. Any insight or opinions on wild life in that area?
