EverythingLubbock.com spoke on Monday with the family of a man who was reported missing by the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office since last month.

Jeffrey Lynn Duffey, 57, has been missing on or about July 3, said his daughter, Rachel Duffey.

“If he left, he was with family,” she said. “So this is very out of character.”

Hockley County Sheriff Ray Scifres said it is concerning that Duffey is missing, because he did not have his driver’s license, social security card, wallet or his cell phone.

Scifres also mentioned that Duffey’s family was concerned, because at one time, they said there was a history of some health concerns.

“But nothing immediate that they thought he would harm himself,” Scifres added.

Family members say that Duffey has two vehicles that are still parked. Scifres said Duffey’s house was properly secured, so no foul play has been suspected at this point in time.

Duffey is a caucasian male with brown hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 11 inches tall and he weighs approximately 161 pounds, according to the Hockley County Sheriff’s.

Duffey’s family added that he always wears a baseball cap.

Anyone who has any information on Duffey’s whereabouts are urged to call Leslie Lehmann, the investigator for his case, at (806) 894-3126.

TY for starting this thread, @Cagle! The article posted in Post #1 called Jeffrey an "Anton man" in the title, but didn't really address that fact in the article. The missing poster prepared by HCSO said that Jeffrey was missing from "Anton, TX." According to wikipedia, Anton is a city in Hockley County with a population of 1,126, according to the 2010 census.

Yeah, I wasn't sure based on the article coming from Lubbock, the Hockley County reference, etc. I'll report this post & see if the admin will change the title to Anton for the location. Thanks!

It worked--the thread title is changed--TY mods! The important part was that you got the thread started for Jeffrey being missing, @Cagle.

Officials with the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office say human remains were found near the Hockley County and Lamb County line late Saturday evening.

Hockley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of the 4000 block of Fisher Road in northern Hockley County related to the discovery of a firearm in a field on Saturday around 8 p.m.

Family members searching the area for 57-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Duffey, who was reported missing on July 22, 2019, were looking in the area and discovered the shotgun and notified law enforcement personnel. Investigators responded to assist in a further search of the area and during the search human remains were discovered.

“At this time there is no positive identification of the person found, however the location and circumstances are consistent with the individual being Mr. Duffey. We have been in contact with his family and they are aware of the status of the investigation,” commented Sheriff Ray Scifres.

How sad, but I'm glad he was recovered, pending official identification.
