Jennifer Apreciado left her boyfriend’s home on the 200 block of Arizona headed for a bus stop near Wall and General McMullen. She called her boyfriend.

“She said that a vehicle was following her and she was scared. She noticed the same vehicle driving by slowly, circling the block,” said Martinez.

Her boyfriend told police he tried calling Apreciado about an hour later. He said a strange woman answered the phone and said she had found it. Apreciado wasn’t around.

She was tiny and could have been mistaken for a younger teenage girl, I guess. Maybe harmed by someone that preyed on young girls...maybe trafficked?

The last thing anyone heard from Jennifer Apreciado, she reportedly told her boyfriend she was being followed by a vehicle as she walked to a bus stop near Wall and General McMullen.

That was Oct. 26, 2006.

Nine years later, Apreciado's disappearance remains a mystery to her family and police.

The height is a little bit off, but the facial reconstruction they did looks very similar. Both in Texas, and the age and weight is correct.

SAN ANTONIO -- Jennifer Apreciado has been missing for more than 11 years.

"It's way past time we need to close it, " said Sheiladawn Fitch, a Private Investigator.

Apreciado was 17 years old when she disappeared on October 26th, 2006. She was reportedly last seen near 19th street and Arizona Avenue on the city's West Side.

"The story was that she had left her boyfriend’s house and that she was walking to a bus stop, and that she noticed a vehicle was following her, " Fitch went on to say.

Apreciado's cell phone was reportedly found but nothing else. "And that was the last that anybody ever heard of her.".

Fitch says she's always had a passion for helping, but never imagined she'd become a licensed private investigator. "It was just volunteering to find missing people, " Fitch went on to say.

Fitch volunteered at the Heidi Search Center and ultimately enrolled in the Texas Institute of Investigation. Even though the Heidi Search Center had to close due to lack of funding, now licensed private investigators like Fitch will continue to work cold cases.

Though so much time has passed Fitch says she’s not giving up hope Apreciado will be found.

"Whatever the reality is there's always somebody that knows something, " added Fitch.

Apreciado was last seen in the vicinity of 19th Street and Arizona in San Antonio, Texas at 3:00 p.m. on October 26, 2006. She had left her boyfriend's home in the 200 block of Arizona, and was en route to the bus stop near Wall and General McMullen when she called her boyfriend and said she'd noticed a car slowly circling the block and was frightened. She didn't describe the vehicle or its driver.

Apreciado's boyfriend tried calling her phone back an hour later, and some other woman answered and said she'd found the phone. Apreciado has never been heard from again. Few details are available in her case.
