Jocelynn Rojo Carranza took her life after experiencing months of relentless bullying from her sixth grade classmates over her family's immigration status, with some students even threatening to contact U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

This is awful. Sadly, I'm pretty sure we'll see many more stories like this starting to come out 😢

“Months of relentless bullying?” The teachers and adult authority allowed it to go on and on because you can’t tell me they were blind to it. Bullying should be automatic suspension. Now the bullies will just move on to their next victim. Kids are cruel. The adults need to step up. Wonder if anyone ever reported it to the principal. If so, big problem. This little girl and no child should be bullied for any reason. Parents need to teach their children better. I can’t imagine the pain that led to this tragic result. Poor baby and now endless pain for her family. Furiously heartbreaking.

RIP, dear child.

Bullies suck.

People who shield bullies suck even more.

Much more to this story, allegedly.

The bullying incident was apparently one student making comments about ICE to a group of Hispanic students on the bus.

She was allegedly being sexually assaulted by someone at home, and had previously made statements about self harm.

Well, color me skeptical. This is all coming from the school district that apparently did nothing about bullying.

I'd be more likely to believe this if it came from LE.

We're in what's called "hot peace" right now. Edge of war. Terrifying.
If a civil war breaks out, I'm immediately volunteering for the side that doesn't want to, you know, destroy the world.

I agree with you, in a normal world.
We are not in a normal world anymore, devastatingly.

The adults won't step up. Who do you think these children learn it from? Modeled behaviors are studied, then mirrored. Then likely praised by said adults.

Likely story from the school. Schools like to deflect when it comes to bullying, and I've seen them stoop to disgustingly low levels to do so. Obviously if she was SA'ed that is beyond horrible. But they're trying to take the heat off of themselves and their students by exposing this girl's alleged trauma (I say alleged purely bc it's coming from the school as a deflection strategy).

JRCs mom said:
In response to the district's statement, Marbella told NBC affiliate KXAS-TV that "nothing about that is true," including the allegation of abuse.

“I talk with my daughter about that, always. I ask. Nobody can touch your body. Nobody," she told the outlet.

Multiple students allegedly reported this, so it would be very easy for authorities to verify if she did in fact say this.

Two things can be true at the same time. She was bullied and the school failed, and she was sexually abused.

I don't disagree, but the school outing her trauma like this to take the spotlight off of their bad behavior is disturbing.
