The Little Rocky Lodge in Laguna Park is on Lake Whitney. I fear he may be in the lake.

Still missing.

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - After an extensive search over several weeks, the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office has reached the conclusion that missing Waco man John Walker Mauhar is no longer in the area where he was last spotted.

Sheriff: After extensive search, conclusion is Missing Waco man not in the area

To Note:
•the wooded area has been searched a number of times by officers on foot, by search K9, by drone and by helicopter
•lake has also been searched numerous times via boat by Texas Parks and Wildlife officers and local individuals with sonar equipment.

•LE found his found his car at the motel and his cell phone and personal belongings in the room.
Que: What was his means of transportation to wherever he went?
Why not take the car?
If he did leave voluntarily, then why check into a motel to then just leave all your belongings behind?
Did this particular place (motel, lake) mean something special/ have significance behind it?

When I first saw John’s picture I thought well, somebody would have to be dumb to pick on him. He looks like he could handle himself. But then I read he takes medication that can cause issues and I got much more worried. Hotel disappearances always intrigue me. I wonder if there are any security cameras in the hallways and entrances that might show him leaving? Does the hotel have key cards that would register each time it was used to enter his room?

@Limecat here’s where he was staying…lodge style, near a lake.
The link includes photos of area.

Maybe when it warms up, they can explore the lake more. I see they did use sonar, but that lake has a lot of little coves and what look like rock ledges. I wonder if he did leave his room thinking he was headed to the office or his car and instead took a turn toward the lake in the dark? moo

How terribly sad!

Bosque deputies believe they found body of missing John Mauhar | kcentv.com

On Facebook, the sheriff's department said local fishermen were in the area of Little Rocky Creek when they came across the body of a white man. The department said this is the same area where a man named John Mauhar was reported missing on Jan. 30. However, they could not confirm if the body belongs to Mauhar.

Deputies sent the body to a medical examiner to see if they can positively identify him.

So sad to see this, though I was concerned something like this would be the outcome. Rest In Peace, sir.

RIP John.

Regardless, it seems the lost has been found, sadly.
